i have a Greddy Type-S BOV. yesterday i was messing with it so that i could vent it to the atmosphere, just to see what it would sound like. it didn't sound that good so i just plumbed it back into the intake and re-adjusted the screw. now when i drive, instead of the traditional chirp, the car just goes "psssssh" like a rush of air. the chirp is gone. any ideas as to what happened? i've tried tightening and loosening the screw on top. thanks in advance.

does it run good? if so, PSSHHTT sounds better than CHIRP :)

yeah it runs perfectly. the "pssshtt" sounds cool and all, but it's not as loud as the "psssh chirp"

I heard that if it's too tight, that you won't get a good blow off effect, but if it's too loose, it bleeds off boost.

well...if it's too tight, add some lubrication.

not vent to atmos without proper engine management
not ever have to tweak your BOV after the first time

reset your ecu.. make sure the 10 minutes didnt throw your fuel trims way off.. which is entirely possible.. datalog the car..

i did reset my ECU, and i don't know anyone around here that has a datalogger. oh well, i guess i'll just figure it out on my own. maybe the sound will just come back one day. thanks for the help anyways.

I have a BLITZ BOV, it works great, it use to make the chirp sound when I first bought it, but now it makes that Double PSSSH PSSSH sound. I like the PSSH more than the chirp. The chirp sounds hella fuckin weak, like a mouse fart or somethin....
Thats weird though, That has never happened too me...ive taken mine off a dozen times

I just install my Greddy type-s BOV 2days ago on my car but the sound was weak! I mean, I could barely hear it. Is there a special way of adjusting it or something? Any input on this will be great!

turn on your car and adjust the screw to it's softest setting. tighten it until you hear the sound of leaking air goes away. you want the BOV set right where it starts making the wierd fluttering sound when shifting under full boost. when you hear it, loosen the BOV 1 turn. under low boost you may still hear the fluttering sound ,but it woun't be as loud.
