Is the VIPER SLOWER than the SS, I think i saw the video about a month ago. VIPER vs. VR4 and the VR4 opened a car of WHOOPED ASS on the VIPER???

TAMPA VS. ORLANDO
Tampa v.s Orlando is right... That was the theme of Saturday nights activity's. A couple people came from Orlando to shut someone up, that has been talking smack about their cars. It just happened to be a Viper. So everyone was excited. Even I was excited. I swear driving with this many people to the Street Runs It felt like I was in "The Fast in The Furious" (sorry that was a shameless plug).
So with it all out on the line, the 99' 3000gt VR4 (GTO in japan) raced the Viper GTS-R. They where Lined up and ready, the flagger drops his hands and their off like two bats outta hell. The VR4 jumps ahead, ahead and takes the lead. The viper lost by 1 and a half cars!!! The viper was knocked off his high and mighty pedestal. And humbled by an import.

Also rumor has it the Viper was spraying a massive shot of the NOS. (still to be confirmed) Its ok though, there will be a rematch, if the Viper and friends want to come up to Orlando to race. Maybe one day SRO will host an event Tampa vs. Orlando. All and All it was an awesome night of adrenaline and hot races!!!!

Man, those are rare cases, i am just saying stock vs stock, even if the GTO was stock, it either got lucky, was an extrememly good driver, or some other factor was in play for the GTO to win espiecially against a viper. But in most cases for someone to say that a a 3000 gt VR4 will kill an SS, is not a very smart thing to say. Cause stock vs stock the SS will kill the VR4, (in the 1/4 mile) and if you are talking maxed out vs maxed out, the SS will leave the VR4 crying. Mad probs to the GTO that beat the viper though. Dont get me wrong when I say this, I am not an american car supremest, I love imports as much as anyother person that loves imports, (hell i have 3 imports, legend, integra, and BMW, i dont even own an american car) but I am not going to be stupid and say that a 3000 gt will kill a SS cause it wont, (in most cases at least).

Unless he blew an o2 sensor out of the pipe that doesnt make any sense...o2 sensors give reading from rich to lean you dont just blow them up from racing. unless your boys car can go from normal to lean instantly then i highly doubt it, the computer wont lean it out that quick with a code.

Ok maybe we had a misunderstanding. No doubt that a gto cant hang with a SS or even with the new GT's But if your talking about upgrade turbo then thats a diff story. But yeah VR4 aint shiet if its stock, I have a cousin who think his car is so fast. he has a 95 VR4 with only a BOV and he thinks he could beat corvettes and all but I spanked him with my Integ. Give me a stock SS anytime to play with..at any speed...give 2 grand of mods to it, and still bring her out to play. My *import* will tear the living shit out of it...plain and simple. I hate to brag, but when I see stupid f#^ks like the above making worthless posts about things they know nothing about, it upsets me. First trip to the strip and my car hit high 12's. That was with 3 passes too...give me a good test and tune night so I can get my AFC dialed in and I *guarantee* it will be under 12.4@112+ My car is FWD...so my launch hinders me..if I had an AWD i would be a high 11 second car...

Do you know hector with the 11 sec tsi awd?? He beat a motorcycle at the runs on saturday, and a heavly moded z28. There are a lot of quick ass cars in the central florida/tampa area.

Don't know anybody in flordia, I am not from there. But props to who ever hector is for his win. What kind of motor cycle did he race? and what is your definition of a heavely modded z28. In my opinion a Z28 that goes 11's is an moderatley modded, and far from heavly modded, a heavly modded Z28, is Much faster. look at wicked SS's mods, he doesn't have that many performance modds, i counted 7, (no offense Wicked SS), and he is pretty quick espcially for what he has. Hey wicked ever try running NOS. Your car would prob be like a low 11' to high 10. That is what one guy I know that has a Z28. He runs high 10's, low 11's, and pretty much the same mods you have but with NOS.

I was on the roof of a factory at the races, so I don't know what kind of bike, porbably a 600cc. The z28 had exaust, a chip, and nos (don't know how much), but he was burning everybody till he got beat. The races in central florida are pretty good.

My 95 LT1 has only bolt ons and nitrous and runs 11.20's@122 mph.... The entire long block is bone stock. I've got stock heads/cam/pistons/rods/crank and even the stock manifold and throttle body. The most expensive mods I've got is a 9" rearend and a nice exhaust.....

Actually 10 grand in mods in a 2thousand dollar awd dsm 1st generation will run low to mid 10s.. Buschur does it with off the shelf parts.. awd is superior to fwd when it comes to moving fast for really cheap

a AWD might be able to launch better. but getting at least a half as second off your time is unlikly.

With his mod list theres actually several 2g awds that run low to mid 11s with that turbo.

Ok, thanks for the info, no offense, but i really dont care, there probably is a few awd dsm out there that can run 11's with those mods, i don't doubt it, but i was just saying shit cause he called me a stupid fuck for posting what i posted before. What i posted before was the simple truth, do all the research you want, the 3000 gt is still one of the slower cars in it's class, and in MOST cases a stock vs stock comparison the SS will destroy the VR4. Even those VR4 enthusiest sites say that the VR4 runs between a 13.7 and a 14.2. So him calling me a stupid fuck and talking about shit i dont know about i fucking retarded, because he proved he knows less about the subject then me. But 10g's in a AWD DSM goes 10's huh? not bad, best one i heard is 4gs in an 80's mustang and it hit 9's. And thevettekiller that is a pretty quick time. My friends nighbor has a white camaro Z28. and achieves roughly the same times you got, I think his best time was somewhere in the high 10's. I think his is an LS1. but i dont know.

OK mine name is Matt and I'm the person who raced the camero SS. If that was a professional race i would have lost because of something going wrong on my car. Thats just tough shit for me. But I would much rather stop when my check engine light comes on that take a chance and have some glory for some plain old fun night racing. Though I will be back and I did repair my car. And btw, the car isn't at all close to stock for everyone's info. I'll pop hood for all of you. I don't have a problem with that. Hopefully we can have a rematch and have a good clean fun race.
