I fell asleep yesterday afternoon (two interviews and no sleep the night before) and when I woke up my mom said something like "I want you to move your car to the driveway." and after she said that I looked outside and found that my car was hit.

I called the police to report a hit and run and found out from the dispatcher that the other party had called in to explain the situation. So now I am dealing with the other party to get the car repaired.

I am just glad I had started putting the car back to stock otherwise the price might have gone up another 1500.00 or more.

EDIT> BTW did that quarter move forward and close that gap at the door? its gonna be a LOT of labor.

There is a big difference compared to before and after. The door still opens and closes fine though.

On the other hand, I had a hit and run happen to the Mazda a couple weeks ago...not as bad as that, but the other party didn't leave a name, number, nothing. I wasn't happy, even though it was just a minor sideswipe.

i had a hit and run at school. some redneck in a jacked up truck backed up ontop of the hood of my nissan. 1200 in damage. i wish i would have filed the claim on it cause i totaled it 2 weeks later and i got no insurence money for it. sucks to hear about yours i know how you feel bro

ouch..

i had a kind of hit and run but the damage was only to the paint on the rear bumper. some dumbfuck in a jaguar backed into me while i was parked, inspected his jag then jumped in and sped away. i went after him and was all over his ass like white on rice but he got away somewhere in the city center after about 10 minutes of chasing his ass all over the place.

So I got my estimate back and to fix the entire rear of the car with all new parts and welding in a new quarter panel it will be roughly 7k
