I have a question. Having a clean driving record is very important to me. I've only been pulled over once (for no front plate). I like having insurance cheap and plus I kinda beleive you are less likely to get ticketed if you have a clean record as opposed to 30 speeding tix. (is that true?)

Well, I frequently register and unregister my cars all the time. I have been in Mustangs since I was 16 and have a perfectly clean record. I have had about 7 different plates spread out among 4 cars. I'm putting the '93 back on the road in a month or so (plate #8) and my question is if a cop ever has to run my plate for any reason, what exactly comes up in terms of my driving record? Is it my record with THAT specific car? would it show it's been registered in my name for 2 weeks or would it show the previous year it was registered in my name. Also, how would it work for driving different cars.

It's hard to explain, but basically i am am wondering if it shows a clean record...or if it shows the cars that you had the clean record with? To me it just looks better to have a clean record in the same car for 3-4 years than it is to have a clean record, but be seen in a sports car that's been registered for 2 weeks. WOuld the cop think i only had the mustang for 2 weeks and for all he knows the first 3-4 years were spent in an escort? how does that all work?
