last night the nemesis red hatch and silver integra made a 95 or 96 camaro go home. well we get to the track just chillin and a red camaro pulls up to the line. so the nemesis silver integra lines up next to this maro. they take off and the silver integ gives this maro an ass whoopin! so a few more runs go bye then the maro wants some of the nemesis snatch(hatch). so we line up. we get flagged to go and i had the most perfect launch. all the way down the track the maro gets futher and further away in my rear view mirror. i hit the hazards and now this is #2 spanking for this maro. now instead of turning around goin back to run again he slowly bounces out! hahahahahaha! what a baby. but see if that was me and got my ass handed to me by 2 imports id go home too. it was a coo night. we had some guys come down from hollister to run us, mad props to all who showed up! hey kwky see i told ya it would be a lot faster with street slicks on it! hehehehehe good run baby you know this! we will run again soon. mad props to matt and his blueberry car, team impulse (white integ), phat boyz type r, the box (hehehehe) you know who you are, jose cuervo, and mad fools that where out there chill.

that was a retarded comment. You can get a 11 sec 2cylinder bike too and it doesn't take a man to do. The number of cylinder argument is dumb. If you have a heavy vehicle, you need low rpm torque and for that you need displacement.

to be around the same level as the yellow type-r, you need about 350 at the wheels, so you have to aim at 400hp or so

otherwise, there's another way to do it: get drag radials/slicks, suspension and gears. Even with not enough power, it's usually a good recipe to win races because you can take off so hard that, even if you don't have the power, you're ahead and the other one has to catch you up first.

of course, the best is to do both engine mods and work on traction, but then that's where you start to break stuff. fyi, I broke my 6th transmission racing that type-r :)

Those numbers aren't right. the 94-98 seem right but the 87-91's are low 14's stock. A buddy of mine ran 13.9 Bone stock on his 150K mile 88 LX 5-spd. If i see a Mustang 5un a 15.8 I'm gonna laugh and point at him too

the numbers on the Camaros seem about right, although in practice I've seen the number .2-.3 slower than that.
the 93-97 Camaros are pretty close (93 having a gearing advantage) but I've seen countless people thinking they were in the low 13 that had to practice to break in the 13

Yeah, the camaro numbers look right. I had a freind buy a 99T/A and he ran it up at the track and ran a 13.5 @ 10X bone stock with an automatic. There was a Ram=Air T/A that went 13.3 stock. Those LS1's haul ass and can hit 12's with very few mods.

The numbers for the stangs look off though. The 94-98 look about right though. 99's run 14.0-14.2, but the 87-93's are low 14 second cars stock with a stick. Toss in a set of 3.73 rear gears, an exhaust and a K&N and that's 13's for about $500-600

I have seen Mustang run 15.8's though and they were really trying. Those Heavy ass automatic convertible GT's seem to only want to run low 16's stock. My mom's car can smoke those stangs.

But 5-spd coupes can be 13 second cars right off the showroom floor. I dunno if any of you guys remember an old car magazine called "cars illustrated"? Back in 1987 one of their editors (tony defeo i think his name was?) purchased a 1987 5-spd LX with no options. He proceded to run a best of 13.3 @ 10x with little more than playing with timing, very minor bolt ons and little tricks and learning how to drive it correctly. Even the guys at Ford thought he was lying because their cars couldn't run that quick.

True....driver skill plays a huge part. I won't lie and will admit to seeing tons of Mustangs running 15's at the track...but the cars can do better...it's the driver holding *some* of them back

I don't understand what you mean here. How can you tell who is a good driver and who is not? you can't. But what i meant was that i'm sure you know of some of your friends that can drive stick really well and then there are some of your friends that are so-so at driving stick (in terms of performance) Some people shift faster, some people shift at wrong rpms...tons of stuff

Also, I don't read import mags much, but let me ask you this. Do you notice import mags getting better times when they test a car out on the track or drag strip as opposed to when Motortrend or Car and driver tests a car? It's the same with domestics. SOme of the times car and driver comes up with are slower than the times some Mustang mags I read get. It's just that when you are used to a certain car and drive it a lot you KNOW the car and know how to drive it better. The person who can drive YOUR car the best is YOU. Import mags driving import cars all the time can squeeze better times out of the cars than car and driver and road and track or whatever where the guys swap around into 30 different types of cars a day. Same with domestics so i never really read too much into those times that come out of those mags as opposed to car-specific mags

Yeah, that is the same with domestics too. HP ratings are within 10-15% or so. So if a car comes with say 150HP...there will be a few cars putting out 155HP and there will also be cars putting out 145HP. It has to do with the way the motor is put together. Is someone gets sloppy or day dreams and the tolerances get off...crappy motor.

Now if you luck out and buy one of the good engined cars making 5-10 more HP than the average and you are a good driver you can pull off some serious times. Go the other way with that and say you are a shitty driver and get a car with a bad engine making 5-10HP less than normal. Now you might run way slower than the other car/driver. There are a shitload of other factors too but i think you can see where I'm going with this and how there can be a wide range of times for a certain car

Agreed. I wasn't even really talking about a specific car in that last post. Just pointing out some general crap about how 1/4 mile times can vary a lot and shit.

But i'm done on here for the day too. Getting 2 threads locked in 30 mins is plenty for me.

Wicked SS: you'll quickly discover that on our cars traction becomes a big problem very quickly. I've seen lots of them in the 12 at the track getting beaten by high 13 cars on the street. Even with drag radials my main worry when I race is to stay ON the street. The stock suspension sucks a lot.

As far as nemisis is concerned. The shit about being a v-8 killer is pretty wack if you ask me. Dont take this the wrong way, i got nothing but love for all of you, But that is a pretty bold fucking statement to say that v-8s aint shit. I personnally have a V-8 that i will match up against any of your cars,but for $1000. The only reason i say this, is because i happen to really like v-8s/ and dont like to see people pop off about beating a couple of stock high 13 low 14 sec cars. So i hope no one takes this the wrong way. Nemisis if you want to respond to this just call me you all got my number, i dont want this turn into an online flame, i just wanna run that shit,.
