i have a 93 beretta gtz w/a 2.3 quad4 doch engine. recently the tranny broke 2 little pices off the top 200 miles after having a new clutch and axil done. the guy at the shop told me he "did everything right" i just had an "old tranny". the tranny jamed, the clutch pedal pulled itself in and the shifter pulled itself into first gear, there was a whole bunch of grinding and then the tranny jammed. the engine will not turn. in my yard i have a 90 beretta gtz 2.3 quad4 dohc that has a blown engine but the guy told me the tranny was good.i was wondering if anyone know how i can get instructions on the webb onto take the tranny and the clutch cabel off, or could someone tell me. i really dont feel like putting anymore money into this car for a machanic, last week i almost sent the car to the junkyard then almost sold it but i think ill give a crack at fixing it. just tell me what tools ill need. i dont care if i screw anything up worse i like projecyts where i dont know what i am doing.

2 little pieces off the top? The top of the bellhousing? Also I thought GM shifted to hydraulic clutch fork setups in almost all their cars by the 90s, I guess not. The only thing I could think of that would cause your clutch pedal and your shifter to move at the same time would be if the tranny itself physically moved or if something fell on both the cables which would in turn tension both the cables simultaneously. If you have the time and are mechanically inclined the swap is not going to be that hard. Do invest in a Haynes manual though, just about the only thing that crappy manual is good for is step-by-step tranny swaps with little helpful tips along the way. Also have your flywheel turned if you are not using the same pressure plate/flywheel/clutch combo, unless you really want to pull the tranny again about 8000 miles later because you clutch chatters so loud you cannot hear your radio.
