I was told by my mechanic that Honda does not recommend platinum spark plugs on my car. I have a 96 Honda Accord. He said it is to much spark for the ignition and honda said that they don't recommend it.
Is that true?

only certain cars are built to use platinum plugs. Otherwise theyre junk. As a general rule, dont use them unless recommended.

Get the Bosch Platinum +4's. Yes it's true that dealers don't recommend putting them in but they work. Actually any spark plugs work. You just notice a performance difference because they're brand new...

Dont listen to that mechanic.
Its suitable for most cars, as more spark ur mixture burn more complete then regular ones(usually there r some unburn fuel after a weak spark firing). therefore occationally more power and cleaner exhause.
and platinum plugs last longer due to the material, so u dont need to change them too often
