View Full Version : Ever been spanked by a girl car in the mountains...?

So yah. I drive a miata. The girls love my car for all the wrong reasons... "Awww its so cute! I love it!" Makes me want to cry. But its okay, despite the fact that its on the underpowered side and I constantly get molestrated on the flats, I tend to own people up in the mountains. Gives me a good bit of satisfaction to be able to take it faster than most... in a girl's car. Its that novelty thing. Like beating a 7ft tall dude at basketball (I'm 5'10). :smokin:
Anyways, one day, I was running 9 towards Saratoga coming from Palo Alto just taking it easy and about a minute after I made that left at the four way intersection that this cooper-s catches up to me and rides me and me not being the type to go too fast on the straights I just pulled over a bit and and let him pass me thinking that I'd return the favor. The turns were coming up so I thought no problem. So he passes me and I downshift and floor it to keep up but he extends the gap. Its okay, he's running more hp than me in a light car, only natural on a straight, I'll make it up on the turn up here. Nope. I saw him tap his brakes, adjust his entry angle and I promptly hear his tires screech happily. Since I'm running all stock and my tires are pretty worn, I reached my tires' max load/slip angle faster than he did and he further extended the gap between us. (I admit that I took the inside too early) I should have drifted that one since I had to brake hard to enter it and it was a short, tight turn that turned right into a hairpin but who would have thought that I'd have to go all out just to keep up with a cooper? So the molestrating continued and I lost sight of him. Kind of excited me and ruined my day all at once. Excited to see a driver like that and to know that I have something like that to shoot for, and feeling god awful that I was raped by a cooper. Hehe That guy knew how to take a FF car and make it go. I don't see many people calculating their weight transfers out on the mountains but he was one of them and he knew his lines on the road. Just thought it was funny. Any similar experiences?

yes.... i do as a matter of fact an old old race i had wit a bimmer when i was in my benz that was interupted by the 2nd viper id ever seen, but thats besides the point. he had a white late 80s early 90s 2 door bimmer i didnt get the model but it wasnt all to slow. i had my 74 450se weighin in at 2.5 tons but she does good in the turns for some weird reason and has awesom 50-120 accel. but because i was young and one hell of a lead foot i had takin my tires down to shity of shitty levels.
well so im on the highway on my way back home from the beartooths and well i see a bimmer ahead of me. he was driven pretty slow so when i caught up to him i went to pass. as i hit my blinker i see his rear aned bounce down for a sec and he starts to pull on me slightly. so i gun it too. it was like 7 am no-one was out on the roads so i was up for a good ole highway race. i gun it and my lil old v8 starts to lay down the tourque and i start to pull on him and well... omg i forgot the word.. oh well a lil series of downhil hairpins where startin to come up and we both where at about 85-90 so i hit my brakes(way early by the way, this was a long time ago and i had lil experience and was kinda afraid of fallin off the side of a mountian. but when i hit the brakes he didnt he went a lil while longer b4 slow'n down but when he hit that turn he took it so smothly all i could do was say damn. i took the corner wide and slopily and he slowly put a larger gap on me through the other 2 hairpins. at the botom he let off to let me catch back up and i pullup beside him on one of them lil pass only lanes they put on steep hills so people can get by them ole semis and he doesnt even look at me before he floors it again andthis time i didnt waste as much time and put my foot down. my benz was alil supurior in th straight line accel cuz i put about 30-40 feet between him and me till the next serius of turns came where he pulled on my and was right on my ass almost and got a pretty good run off the last lil turn and passed meand it took me asec to regain the accel to catch back up to him but by then we hit the next series of hairpins on these i did better to keep up wit him after theat we hit a long stretch of straight road and we just cruzed at 70 for a while wit me on his ass. but in this i saw a viper pullin on to the road i was like holy shit cuz you dont see to many in montana and that was the 2nd car i had seen the whole mornin other then the bimmer. after a few min i was likew fuck this and i went to pass the bimmer but he floored it again so i kept it on the gas al the way to 135 before letin off and left him a good distance behind but then i saw some dif headlight come by him. and all of a sudden me at 75 and this red viper is right on my ass. im like oh shit nice. he all pulls up next to me and just revs his car all loud and shit. so im like fuck and i floor it, he lets me go for like 2-3 sec and then floors it and that this just went by my me man ,i was boooo, not fair. theni look in mirror for the bimmer and he was gone. so i followed the viper all the way back to billings where i live and didnt floor it from then on cuz of the traffic was starten to appear
I can name numerous Neons and miatas that own up in the twisties. The car helps but a lot of it has to do with driver. There nimbleness definitly gives them an advantage but don't pre-judge...I've seen some quick fucking domestics and imports tear it up through the mountains.

Hehehe I just like to make fun of everything including myself and of course my car. I'm all about being politically incorrect, what can I say? Born 'n raised in Cali, but really, don't take those parts of what I say all too seriously or you won't like me all that much.
Don't get me wrong about my car though, its exactly the reason why I bought it in the first place and took to the mountains. I intended to be fast out there through skill; and obviously I'm still working on it. It makes me grin when I see those exceptional drivers tearing it up out there in that effortless, smooth kind of way.

LoL. Yeah, I looked at buying one of those Coopers instead of the Miata. The base Cooper is easily the equal of an M1, and the S will hand an M1 it's ass on a plate. A full second quicker to 60, two seconds faster in the quarter, and in the turns...LoL. The Miata is screwed.
On the other hand, it doesn't take all that much for a Miata to be able to outrun, outbrake, and outturn the Cooper, as long as you've got a bit of money burning a hole in your pocket. Last track day I was at, I easily bettered an S in everything but braking-he seemed to be able to outbrake me. But how much of that was the driver, I do not know.

Well yah, if you wanted to get down to the nitty gritty, a Jackson supercharged '94+ Miata with a performance differential and the standard suspension upgrades hauls no matter where you are. But then again I'd rather be the reason why I'm going faster than the upgrades on my car. Upgrades'll come when I'm pushing the maximum potential of my car which won't be for a while I'd imagine. Besides, a college kid with a girlfriend has no money to spend on performance upgrades hahaha woe me :sadly

Bah. Supercharged Miatas suck. Absolutely suck. There's nothing good about them. They have less torque at any given RPM, less power anywhere, lower peak values, and cost about the same. There's absolutely no point in a supercharged Miata.

I wish we had mountain roads here. :( I will make a trip up to Deal's Gap one day.

The Michigan Miata club is headed down there sometime soon...I forget the dates, but I'll be there. Supposed to be a really fucking nice drive.

The only reason why I'm for supercharging is that I'm keen on fine throttle control and a solid powerband even if its mediocre. Safer for novice drivers like myself. I'd most prefer a strong NA engine but superchaged is the next best thing so yep. Hmmm Dave, could you give me dates? Mebbe I could come with. :D

u have suspension done! I try to follow in my se-r but I'llb e the first to admit I can't drive worth shit. Remember how u pull away from me at the corners and at the strights I quickly gain the distance back?

Let me guess, July 25-27. That is when the annual Miatas at the Gap event occurs for 2003. If you do some searching you can find lots of info about past year's events. Money has been the reason I haven't gone yet.

Edit: If you are going for the annual Miatas at the gap meet, expect it to be extremely crowded with highway patrol everywhere :( I'd like my first gap drive to be at some other time for those reasons.

I remember that i couldnt keep up cuz there was no place to pass the damn slow ass prelude in front of me. I would slow down and let him get hella far from me then i would catch up like he was standing still. That shit was annoying though not being able to pass a car.

Ahahahaha go~ Sentra! Oh my god, that reminds me, I have this... sub-par ricer living on my street that wants to race me every time he sees me on the road and he's one of those people that put the body kit on it that says "GT-R" in the back. Makes baby bambi cry.... if he could drive better it wouldn't be so bad I guess but blah he's a hazard on the road.

I guess the sentra is very under estimated. I only have springs and shocks and tires. 205/40/17 falken GRB R/S's. Oh man that car could hang in the mountains. even my friend who is a seasoned racer at the track could not shake me in his race M3. that was a lot of fun.
my rims and tires got stolen so it's just got the stock 13's on it with 70 series now :(

I think the SE-R's pretty nifty if you asked me but as for my neighbor's car... blah~ Man gotta hunt down the ass that jacked your rims.
