I recently bought a weapon-r dragon intake and installed it. I replaced one of the hoses with a yellow hose like you are supposed to but I didn't have the clamps with the screw on them to really get it tight. I used the factory (crappy) hose clamps. Half way to work the heat needle was over half way. By the time I made it off the freeway and into a parking lot it had got to the red mark for less than 10 seconds!!!!!

Ever since them it doesn't seem to idle perfectly and I have noticed a knocking sound when accelerating at very slow speeds. The best way to descibe the sound is that it is like a diesel engine sound just very faint.

Any help on engine trouble after it heating up would be very appreciated.

What hose did you replace? is it the breather line from the intake to the valve cover, if it is, you have nothing to worry about, hell my intake doesn't have one. Your car sounds like it's having a BIG problem, you might want to let us know ALL the problems it has, so we can narrow it down from here.

Did you check your coolant level, since it like uhhh..."overheated?"

The car did overheat and the coolant and I had my mechanic fill it up with coolant. He said it sounds like a low RPM engine nock that is uncommon in accords. I replaced the small radiator hose in between where the intake connects and the valve cover.

There is no problem with the weapon r intake just don't follow the instructions completely. It says to replace that hose and use factory clamps. If you do that the water will just seep out around the hose because the hose is slightly bigger.

your problem can't be related to the intake as the only hose it has is a hose for the valve breather, the hose just feeds air into the valve breather so even if you didn't have it there wouldn't be any problems (except stuff getting sucked into the valve breather opening. If your car overheated most likely your radiator is not working that well, does the fan come on? does the radiator burn up a lot of coolant (is the reservoir always empty even if you just filled it up. If your engine did run without coolant for awhile (overheating) then it could have warped your head or your block as they are made of aluminum but you said it was only for a little while so that shouldn't be the problem, was you car smoking?
