The only movie I can recall that got my full attention is a Chinese movie called "To Live". It shows how life really is, without all the sugarcoated bullshit.
Not one for movies, but I can name a shitload of books that impacted me.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned my favorite movie and probably the only film to have completely influenced my behavior:
Fight Club. I can't describe how much I changed from just thinking about the film; amazing. If you haven't seen it then you should and not just take it at face value.
The end of American History X made me totally re-examine what the movie was about and it blew me away.
*spoiler* SPOILER*
When Edward Norton is holding his dead brother I didn't know whether to think his character was right for trying to change his brother or whether hate was the only naturally way of life for people.
Clockwork Orange. I read the book first but the movie just put into visuals about what I was thinking about it. Incredible story; feels even more complete if you get one of books with the missing chapter (a last chapter with Jack later in life) at the end. The publisher didn't think people woudl feel as complete if it ended the way the writer intended.
And though it's not a movie Xenogears (sig pic to the left is of the main character as a kid) completely changed my thinking; maybe even more so than Fight Club. After the game I renounced my religion, read 40x more books (haven't watched TV in 3 years), and became a lot more philisophical. If you can take PS1 graphics I *highly* reccomend you rent/buy it and play all 72 hours through since it is the best story of any media ever.
Xenosaga is dumb though. :(

In no particular order:
1) Fight Club
2) Donny Darco
3) American History X
4) A Bronx Tale
5) Pretty Woman
Most of these are pretty intense movies, and they all say something worth paying attention to. After I get done watching Pretty Woman, no matter how down I'm feeling, I think to myself "Hey, at least I'm not a prostitute..."

1-We Were Soldiers
War movies that actually depict real events in History and go into great detail seem to affect me the most, because they make me think of what all those involved must have felt and thought. Especially in "We Were Soldiers" because they did an extraordinary job at showing the battle and showing what was going on at home with the wives of the men on both sides.
2-Pearl Harbor
Mostly a chick-flick, but for the actually war parts it makes me think and brings emotions out in me, such as when one of the main characters dies and he is told he can't die because he is going to be a father, that always hits me.
I can't think of any other ones, oh well.

Ugh. Pearl Harbor sucked the pipe. There were so many things to hate about it, but the one that comes immediately to mind is the cut with explosions going off on the decks of what are obviously post-WWII frigates or DE's. Tip to filmmakers: Aegis phased-array radar systems were exceedingly rare in 1941.

1. The Matrix Series: mayn, some deep thinking and awesome battle scenes. So many interpretations!
2. The Grave of the Fireflies: It's an Anime movie that reproduces the lives of two young children trying to survive in a war stricken country... sad, beautiful, true.
3. Lion King! Hakunamata! It has been one of my all time favorites. It shows so much emotion.
4. Moulin Rogue: Oooo, I musical influencing my life? Yup, it was a good movie, it shows love is a double edged sword.
5. Bruce Almighty: This is a new one, if you see it then you'll understand why it could affect a person's life. It shows how selfish, dependent, and unsatisfying we are, because we are human.

You should read Bruce Campbell's biography if you like Evil Dead. It's a riot.
The thing that sucked about the recent movie adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo is the happy ending. The book is VERY different.
