Hey guys I'm looking to buy an ACT stage 1 clutch for my civic and was wondering if anyone could give me some imput as to where I can find them for the cheapest price. The average price I've seen so far seems to be $300. Its for a 92-95 Civic SOHC Vtec...Thanks for any help.

On the subject, I hear a lotta stuff about ACT street clutch kits just being stock clutch kits with a little yellow paint thrown in. Anyone know if theres any validity behind that?

my boys 94 ser has a stage 1 street clutch and it grabs good and chirps hella long. i know a stock clutch wont be able to do that.

how about those clutchmaster pressure plates with the weights on them. are those any good. a guy in town is selling me one with the stage 1 clutch disk for 150. without TOB and alignment tool. Is that a good deal?

ACT's are certainly not repainted stock units. I love mine. But its a little tough to drive sometimes in traffic and up-hills. I'm running a 4puck copper unsprung with the Xtreme plate. It bites as hard as hell. AFter 2 years of beating it up alot on the turbo hatch its slipping a little bit. I'm going to yank it soon i'm just curious to see if the disk is beating up the flywheel. :hump:

yes, they are better then stock.

XTC, the tool should come with the plate. talk him in to it. and yes the weights make all the difference. if not the i'm sure that you can borrow one from pep boyz or a place like that. just get the right spline size and tooth count.

volvo must we always run into this shit talking issue? I have owned 2 of the fastest vehicles ever produced, they were both yellow and that is why. You are progressivly turning all those in which you speak to into morons. If they take in any of the horse shit that comes out of your mouth, they will very likely become very ignorant in the near future. Please stop talking for fear that you will say something really retarded. IE explaining back pressure or the color of something fast. please refer to my signature if you have any questions.

thanks mike

ask Jerome from www.sohfast.com
tell him erik sent you. he might be able to work you out a good deal. plus, he responds to emails faster than more people I know.

I would stick to ACT. I used to have the 6 puck clutch w/heavy duty plate. grabbed like a bitch! Of course, i was using it on my d16a6 tranny. After a month every gear grinded..lol

So now I just stick to stock clutches, but the most I'd ever go is stage one.

Like Mikey said I already got it done...I got the ACT Stage 1 for $390 Installed If anyone is looking for a good shop in the San Jose area go to Clutch Works on Monterey Rd in South San Jose...Tell them that Aron or Larry sent you, and they should hook it up.

I've got 378 miles left on the break and it grabs like a bitch....Thanks again!

Stage 1 - Clutch Kit w/ Organic Street Disc-$ 289.95, is the cheapest I could find. I will keep looking for you though.

~For racing, combine the ACT Xtreme Pressure Plate (most available in ductile iron) with the ACT Xtreme Race Disc for the ultimate in torque capacity, durability and quick shifting.
