One of my friends has a 1995 thunderbird with the 4.6 liter v8, the car is completely stock except for k&n filter. Now this kid at school just got a 1990 mustang Gt thats completely stock other than flowmasters. Both cars are automatics and plan on running from a 15 MPH roll upto about 80-85 mph. So my question is who do you think will win? Ide like to know your predicitons sometime tonight since they are plannin on doing it tomorrow after school and i just wanted to know what everyone thought the results would be. thanks

5.0 all the way. No replacement for Displacement and also im pretty sure they are lighter. Let us know the results.

T-birds are heavy as hell. The AOD is totally crappy, too. But I think the 'stang would win.
95 TBird 4.6: 205hp/275torque, 3500lbs.
90 GT 5.0: 225hp/280torque, 2830lbs.

Im picking the T-bird. I always liked the underdog.

GTs weighed a lot more than that... shit... my LX weighs 3200 with me in it and a tank of gas. And if they are going from a roll, I'm gonna say that the modular has more topend capabilities than the 302. I like the T-Bird also.

ehh, i say the 4.6. even though the 5.0 has more hp, the 4.6 has a better mid to top end power. the 5.0 should race out of the hole, cause that is where he would destroy the tbird. 5.0 have torque.
LT WHAT?

T-birds are tanks, 5.0 hands down.

both are great cars with alot of options for improvement, but the t-bird should be cheaper on insurance if money is an option.

Well guys my friend with the t-bird got slaughtered. We did it twice from a 15 mph roll and both times the guy in the mustang shot off about three cars ahead by the time we hit 45 and he let off so we could catch up then while my friend in the t-bird was about to pass him still full throttle both times the guy would hit it again and stop our pull right away and he would just stay there for a few seconds then start pulling again. they are gonna try it from a stop to like 85 or 90 pretty soon because the guy with the t-bird has himself convinced he would take the kid in the 5.0 if he could go from a stop which makes no sense to me but whatever. oh yah just wondering i have a 72 cutlass at home with a rocket 350 in it and true duals with no cats, edelbrock carb, and some drag radials out back. would ibe able to take either the 5.0 or the t-bird??? thanks

well, assuming everythings in good shape, you should be able to stomp the t-bird, and probably take the mustang, but not for sure.
