I am thinking of picking up a used 2002 Sunfire. How this car to work on. I know the car is a FWD but so is the Honda Civic. What do you guys think of this car. Can you sup them up. I would think they would be a fun car to sup up because no one does.

that all depends, is it the GT? because there is a slowly growing aftermarket for the 2.4L engine. as far as stroker cranks, cams etc...
for looks there is lots around. it really depends on how deep your pockets are. read this too, right down to the bottom! (http://www.streetracing.org/boards/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27500)

that will give you an idea on how to go about doing such a thing to your car. and of course if all eles fails, then just learn to drive the car you have first.

most 2002's had the 2.2 Ecotec. The engine takes to turbos relatively well from what I've seen and can probably also handle a decent shot of nitrous. Alot of Ecotec J-bodies are also running 15's with relatively few mods. It's got good torque for the car's weight.

It's not a speed demon, but still a relatively fun car. There is a constantly growing aftermarkets for j-bodies from companies such as RkSport, Mantapart, GM Racing, and others.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me here on the boards or get with me on AIM. or even better yet, check out www.j-body.org for some great info.

I cant honestly recommend a cavalier or sunfire to anyone; they are the worst quality i've ever seen in a car.
