I have a 95 civic ex with basic mods, and I was woundering if running straight headers would hurt my car, and would it give it more power than an exhaust.

It wouldn't hurt your car...it would just be HELLA loud! Yeha it would give you power with no backpressure

running open header should be advised for track use only, if you dont mind getting dirt/ particles into your combustion chamber, and if you have strong vlave springs.
think of it as back draft, hot air flows out, then the shift, a vacum of cold air( colder than what is being produced-exhuast gases) along with particles, runs back up into the combustion chamber.
you decide

Running an open header on any naturally aspirated Honda inline four is stupid, unless you are pushing 200+ HP and even then its good to run about 2-3 feet of 2 1/2 inch piping. You are going to lose back pressure which is necessary in order to create torque. It will actually slow you down. I'm guessing you just want it for the sound and don't care for performance. Also don't be surprise if your valetrain goes shit on you.

u can run open header if u want a ticket with the quickness. that thing would be loud as loud is watevr but yeh if u run open header get like the dcsports one. its designed to run without a cat and it has several inches of piping extending from it. the fumes would be directly under yer car too, givin u a free cheap high. but yeh peace
