Diavolo is right  The first one would look really good in anything under 17" as it'll show off your brakes enough in a small size but when you go over 16" it seems to make your brake look rather small compared to the edge...and that 'empty space' look is ugly.
I actually like the second one better but it looks as if it would have to be a larger diameter just to 'open' it up more...hmmm Im with DiaVolo

If youre getting something bigger than 16" i would suggest number 2.
#1 is a good looking rim if you get a 15-16 inch wheel.
The first wheel is such a minimal design that if you get a large diameter its gonna make your brakes look SMALL, and lame.
If you upgrade your brakes then #1 in a 17" would look sweet.
what year civic?

sup diavolo..
i have a 2001 civic coupe and u can check it out at www.trapspeed.net ...and i DO have AEM big brakes in the front..so hmm...will that change your mind??

either way you're going to look like every other civic out there, and be just as slow.

i think that a four bolt lug pattern and a 5 spoke wheel just don't look right. therefore i choo choo chose number 2.

Civic sleeper~both rims weigh almost the same, like a .5 lb. difference..
LT WHAT?~i never said my car is fast or CAN be fast at all...never in my life would i say that..
firefly~the rims comes in 4-lug, just that the pic was of a 5-lug..

I'd go with the second one...but that's my opinion...I always like satin finish on rims...and the silver will add a nice accent

yes, but you have a Civic, and they have a 4X100mm(or 4X4.000")
bolt pattern.

no i did not.
regardless of the fact that it comes in a 4-5-6 or 17 lug pattern its still looks bad as a 4 lug/5 spoke thing.
