my buddy has a jdm h22 in his 95 civic coupe. what i noticed on his car is that it slammed his front end a lot. i would imagine it was have handling characteristics of a front heavy car. when it is running, it sounds like a b series, so you really can't tell.

i think it is cheaper than the gsr because of the difficulty of installation. he need custom motor mounts, axles, and he had to custom his shift linkage. all i can tell you that it is a pain to install but a joy to have done it.

i know a dude with one in his 94 hatch, but shit happened and we aren't talking. but i noticed that his car was similar, front heavy just like the dude with the coupe.

should i get a b16A 1st gen convert my car to cable. since its cheaper than the 2nd gen and just throw a turbo on it? or should i go b18c just stock internals and some bolt ons?

i suggest going b18c cuz you have more potential. more torque than b16.

you don't need to convert to cable cuz you would use a hydrolic tranny.

you can go second gen b16 which has same horsepower as usdm gsr, but less torque.

Just go B series cuz i think you have to extend the frame a lil when going H22.

With the H22 in a civic hatch, there'd be an incredible difference in handling. I really noticed it having the B18C1 in my DX with cornering (especially when pulling out of a 90 degree turn) but more importantly with breaking. There's a lot of extra weight on the front end, and I would highly suggest a break upgrade. For suspension, all I have right now is the Eibach Pro Kit, and (whether or not that helps significanlty) there aren't too many problems with a larger motor swap.

Ya it well definitely be front end heavy and the handling will suffer but it'd be a great drag car... and a definite sleeper...

Not necessarily, just because a car has a major upgrade doesn't mean it's a sleeper....
