OKay, I understand that this is an innocent post, but you are about to piss off a LOT of people. This site is full of domestics and imports, all of which get along just fine. If you want a biased opion about who is better than who, go to the honda boards or something.
Thanks you.

Dude, imports AREN'T better than domestics and vice versa. Everything is subjective. It all depends on what each person wants from a car. In my argumentative/critcal thinking writing class, this is known as a pseudo argument; everything is based on opinion so there's no right or wrong answer. For instance, if I said I like the number three, you might ask, "Why?" I say because it's the best. That's my opinion, and you can't argue against it. It just goes no where. Same as all this domestic vs. import shit I always read about. Who the fuck cares? People like what they like, and everthing is from a personal standpoint. IMO, and based on experience writing one too many argumentative papers, your paper will flat out suck. Sorry to say that, but it's true.
P.S. - BYRON, "thanks you?" What are you? a FOB? :p j/p. now everyone's gonna call me a rascist, hehe.

Dude, seriously a bad idea. First of all, its way too subjective, as someone has already stated. Second of all, how would you define an import or a domestic? Would a Talon Tsi be considered a domestic or an import? Do European cars count as imports also? Are you strictly going by imports and domestics or are you going by engine size and the number of cylinders? It seems like you're working from a very vague foundation, I wouldn't write an essay dealing with imports vs. domestics. It's difficult enough deciding which car is "better" when you have only 2 cars in front of you. When you're dealing with these two extremeley generalized group of cars, you're never going to find a correct answer and you'll never be able to sufficiently back it up.

I will have to agree with many here who posted that the debate of Imports vs. Domestics is an issue that will never be resolved. But you do have the right to voice and print your opinion therefore I will give you this one source that can hopefully help you get a fresh start on your paper. I can guarantee you this though, you will definitely need more than 8 pages if you stick with the subject of why imports are better than domestics.

Personally I don't have a preference between Imports or Domestics. I just love speed and horsepower. I enjoy watching import racers being able to do 9 and 8 second passes the same as watching pro-mod muscle cars do 6 second passes. And don't tell me you are not impressed with NHRA Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars that do 4 second passes with speeds of over 300mph! It is really something to see a 7,000 horsepower car right in front of you taking off with engines louder than anything else you've ever heard before.

All right this is the dumbest post, first off I call BS on your paper, what English teacher in their right mind would OK a paper proclaiming that outside products were beter than domestic products barring any political relationships to the product.
Second, I am of the belief that domestics and imports can get along and that both have the same degree of positives and negatives. If any of you think Domestics are cheaper, that's BS and I can show you what my uncle spends on his 68' mustang fastback/shelby conversion ($3000 for a set of USED wheels and tires, probably what my whole engine cost.) Domestics have torque from hell and have almost unlimited options of power adders. Imports have outragous redlines (peak at 8000rpm+) that can send top speeds through the roof.
The point is we all spend a rediculous amount of energy on building up our cars, and anyone who has the time to say his\hers is the best because where it was made isn't spending enough time in the garage building their engine.
Ill get off the soap box now and go back to thinking about how the hell I'm gonna fit the huge exhaust on the back of my little car.

Lemp - we're not really hating on you. We're just telling you that they're WAAAAAY too many things to take into consideration for this type of paper. When writing an argumentative-type paper or a persuastion-style paper, you always have to entertain the other side, right? Well, what the fuck are you going to say? "I know that domestics might be faster and have more torque, but imports get better gas mileage and have the ability to rev to 8000 rpm?" That's bullshit. what if the domestic driver doesn't care about gas. and what if his car is a completely built, yet street driveable, muscle car that can rev to 8500 rpm? there's way too many things to consider when acknowledging the other side and if you try it, you'll look like a fool. get a new topic for your paper! If you want to stick with this "import" topic, maybe persuade your audience that imports like Integras or Preludes can be made into fast cars, contrary to what many people think. better yet, say Civics, Corollas, old 510s, and old Corolla GT-Ss can be made to go fast. just don't do some paper on import vs. domestics. i'm telling you, and i have experience with this type of writing, that i'll turn out like a big-ass piece of SHIT.

OKAY LEMP The essay you are writing is about WHY YOU think imports are better that domestics, not why the board does. I drive a domestic but am in the process of switching from a domestic to an import just becuase i want to know about both side. Just because i get an import doesnt mean i am going to stop going out racing with my domestic guys.

We have too many biased people already why has everyone have to be better than the other

Not to be mean or anything but your question is too damn stupid. There is too many things that compare between imports and domestics. First, you have to know which cars are you comparing. Second, What are the purposes of each car (racing, stock, looks, etc) Third and last, There is no better car, is all about what people like and dislike; therefore, your not going to have a good conclusion in your essay. If your teacher knows about cars as much as you know then you don't have a problem of getting an "A", but if he knows then your pretty much F-U-C-K-E-D.
There is a good domestic web-site at http://www.corral.net,,,is a message board for all domestics; primarily Mustangs. It might help you. Good luck on your essay.
