i was just thinking about this last night when i was watching some drift movies. how long do you guys think we have until drifting becomes "mainstream"? with all of these movies that have been coming out ever since, i would say gone in 60 seconds there have been alot of movies about cars. and everything has started to become a mainstream thing. also when do yalls tink well get getting a fnf movie about drifting? i feel WE are about to become real popular.

Slowly.
Yet, Theres a Drift event every single month at Irwindale.(southcal)
I think we are going slowly. Support the local event and there will be more drift event out there.
A friend of mine is working on the drift event on the east coast.
You can contact this guy at www.dgtrials.com

It is, But once you have that Insurance you can rent mostly any parking lot that the owner is willing to let you drift around. City won't fuck with you also. Almost.

i know as long as its fun ill do it but, has anyone elese got harassed by authorities since fnf came out. im just worried that its going to happen even more (harassment) cause we drive a certain type of car we are automaticly classified as "street racers"instead of police actually busting people that are doing actual crimes.

Well all imports fall under this category. The thing im worried about is people going out thinking that drifting is easy and crashing there car or killing themselves. Either by smashing into a pole or falling off a cliff. This will attract more attention that is not wanted. Also it will give drifting a bad rep. Also the popuarity of certain cars have been boosted due to drifting become more popular. I see a lot of kids now a days trying to get so called "drift cars" and it bothers me to think that the only reason why they want that car is because they saw it in initial D or in an options video. :duh

Well, Let see...
If you don't do the crime then you won't do that time.
Keep it off the street then you should be good.
How can a DRIFTER get harass by cops?
"oh, son... You got an option stickers on your window, You're a drifter aren't you?"

Yeah I was wondering how long it would be before drifting became less...special, like people saying, "oh, you drift hey, well that's old now..." I think, and hope, that it won't get that way, like a fad. It's too cool :P:P

Who cares if it's less "special"? That just means it's not a fad anymore and the people who are left are the people you want in it anyways because they're the ones doing it because they love it, not because it's the latest trend. I don't understand everyone's obsession with being "special."

i really hope drifting doesn't become "mainstream" then every kid out there will want to do it and they will end up giving all of us a bad rep, as if fnf didn't do enough of that to us already.

Not everyone will be able to go into the sport because it will be too expensive, especially with the economy not doing so good. People might think twice before spending hunderds of dollars on a drift car.

BLAH BLAH I HOPE IS DOESNT GO MAINSTREAM BLAH BLAH BLAH.
So what if civic starts drifting?
So what if kids starts drifting with mommy's car?
Is that your problem? I didn't think so.
SO what if drifting goes mainstream? Whats going to happen?
TOuge will be filled with rice? SO? If you follow the law the you don't have to worry about it.
Go to your localDrift Event and starts supporting and stop yapping behind your computer and thinking your a "DRIFTER".

drifting will NEVER become mainstream.
just like street racing. all of these band wagon street racers just try to look cool and pimp out their rides, but think of how many of them actualy street race.
if it ever 'catches on' itll be a shit load of people with steel wheels, black hoods, and 'drift 4 lyf' on their windshields, but they wont actualy know anything about racing
