I got pulled over recently in southern california for having HIDs.
Heres what the cop told me. He said he was following me and saw the beam pattern and color on the floor. He said the pattern was too wide and the color looked blue. He asked me what kind of lights do I have. I told him HIDs. He didnt ask me if they were aftermarket or stock. He just said they were too blue and beam pattern was too wide. I have aftermarket 7500k rating HIDs by the way, but didnt tell him that since he didnt ask. I also drive a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder. I told him to give me a break, and he did. His reason was that he wasnt in front of me so he couldnt really tell how blue and how wide my HIDs were shinning.
My question is:
Whats the fine for aftermarket HIDs? If there such a thing. And if a cop were to write a ticket, what would they put on the ticket?
