View Full Version : Finally Raced GT Stang VS LS/VTEC 2 out of 3 races the winner is

I finally race my co-worker last night in Plesanton. 1st race at the line he jumped out by one a car, I shift on 2nd at 7,700 rpm and I was at his door, 7,700 rpm on third and I have a bumper lead and I shift at 8,300 rpm on 4th and I have a 1 car lead, I took him by 1 to 1 1/2 car. Second race we took off at the same time neck to neck, I shift at 2nd at 7,000 rpm and he jumped by a bumper and when I shift to third I was on his quarter panel. I mess up on third also I have a shot tranny 3rd gear is bad. GT won the race by a bumper. The third race same thing even on the start, shift to second at 7,500 rpm I was ahead by 1/4 car. 3rd gear shifted at 7,000 rpm still have a 1/4 car lead at 4th gear I shited at 8,000 rpm and I took him by 1/2 car. I won 2 races ouf of 3 not bad I guess. But I need more practices

u blew your tranny? =( damn, that sucks. i hate when i have to fix stuff on my car, rather spend my money on mods. great job on the win!

werd dude didnt u say you redline around 9000 or so. if yer tranny was in good shape youd easily smoke him then. riteo n dude ey i was wondering wat kinda stroker kit u got. peace

Yeah my rev limit is at 9,300 rpm. I wonder what would have happened if I red lined up to 9,000 rpm. JG said that my motor can rev up to 9,700 rpm no problem but I think I woudnt pass 8,00 RPm at the most. I have a S&W stoker kit.

My synchro is bad, Im just waiting for my tranny to give up on me so that I could put on my ITR tranny.

Yeah we should hook up someday, I got a question he has a 96 or 97 SVT stick, You think I could hang wiht him

I think the 96-98 Cobras pump out like 290hp(not 100% sure) whereas the GT u raced pumps out 260hp...Pluse the Cobras have more torque, and run high 13s stock...13.8 I believe. If you just beat the Gt by 1 or 2 cars, u might be able to hang with the Cobra or lose by 1 to 3 car lengths.

Bro you think it will make a diff. if I put my 15" rims, right now I'm rolling on 17". Also If I get my tranny fix. As you can see when I shift to 8,300 RPM I took a big lead from him. What if I shiftat 8,500 rpm consecutive or at 9,200 RPM what you think. I dont know thats just my guess

It is fun but say bye bye to the motor, When I got my LS/Vtec with out my motor being fully built, I pick up two my friends and I told them hay guys watch this. I shift until I hit 9,200 rpm and they hella flip out. I did that for a while. Then my motor gave up after 900 mile after the conversion. Right now I have a fully built motor by jg bored to 2.0 with S&W stroker kit and ITr internals. JG said my motor could handle up to 9,800 rpm but so far Ive only pused it to 8,500 rpm.

switchin back to 15s will definately help man..its gonna be a close one tough to call...just have to race em and find out.

I've got a 97 Cobra, and it turned a 13.2 bone stock....I'd watch out, Auto GT's are slow, so smoking newer GT's might now be the norm for you...But you never know...Good Race...

I'll email when I could sneak out of my wife. I have to give her a really good excuse. She hates me when it comes to cars. but im down HEHEHEH
