Ok,

I was poundering a question I'd come here to post it since this forum specializes in what I am interested in doing. So I'mma stop dattling and get to it along wit hthe fact that I didn't know where to post this. Anyways I am interested in seeing how more or less difficult it would be to turbo or supercharge a lincoln well my lincoln in perticular. It is a 87" Continentel that has a 5.0 motor and it verystrong with 66,998 miles on it or something like that give or take a digit. It's in tip top condition and has been garage kept for the longest before we bought it. . So now I'm just exploring my options as to possibilities these car has. I figured since it has pretty much teh same motor as any other mustang what difference could it make ? that's why I came here to get some answers. Can any of you people help me out ?

It'd be cheaper to rebuild it with some nice heads, intake and cam; unless you're doing a ghetto turbo setup.

You'd end up with over 350hp with no problems.

Nah I'm not doing a ghetto setup. But your suggestion with intake and cams is already in my plan. I wanna build a sleeper that NO one would expect.

That's largely irrelevant except for the factory compression ratio. For a number of reasons, I'd go with one of the centrigugal supercharger setups that probably Vortech and another couple of outfits make. I know a guy who bought a 150K+ mile ex-CHP cop car (Mustang) and threw one on for the Silver State Classic race a few years ago. Unfortunately, his motor had so much blowby from the worn rings (plus he put on those gaggy breathers) that he soaked his ignition wires and was shooting ducks coming over the rise toward our patrol spot at about the 15 mile mark. He was cruising at a steady 160 mph before things started to badly deteriorate so he had to pull out of the race.

Your motor is likely in much better shape and you can adjust the boost level with the pulley diameters. Those are relatively simple installs and tons of reasonably priced upgrades are all over the place (besides, I like sleeper tanks). Run a wet and dry compression along with a cylinder leakdown check. Do NOT detonate at all with the stock long block (run a higher octane fuel and seriously consider water/alcohol injection too) and I think you'll be very happy with the results. :)

Thanks man, but your gonna half to be a little more specific when you water/alchohol injection  ? I have heard of it but it hasn't been explained to me.

Basicly this is gonna cost me ALOT close to 10grand or more.Well taht soundsall god and dandy but after doing something thinking I think I'mma jsut gonna go buildmy own sports car . I wanna Z more then anything though. Don't get me wrong I love american cars but I miss my old 280ZXT. So I think I'mma go looking and doing the cost on building a 300 and using my linc as a show/daily driver as what itis better suited for anyway. Thanks guys,
