Alright, so I did something stupid on the drive home from target, but it was all in good fun and makes a great story. I was driving a completely stock civic, just my first car, haven't put anything in it, i'd only had it about a week at the time. But anyway, I see this WRX, nice-ass car, HUGE fan of it (props to the Sub. guys), it's me and my cousin in the car, and my cousin tells me to get into the right lane at the light and rev the engine. So I do, what's the harm? This guy didn't look like he'd want to race at all. He was leaning up against his window, looking like he was driving home from a stressful day at his job. My cousin and I laugh, because we know that we look like the biggest rice-burner fiends out there, and complete dumbasses to boot. Anyway, the light turns green, I go, cause I gotta back up the challenge with something, and then this guy, who, again, looks like he was taking a leisurely drive back home burns out all four wheels and takes off, then burns all four again in second, and beats me by lord knows how many car lengths. It was the best victory I've ever seen. My cousin and I looked at each other in disbelief and then started laughing as I ran through gears and thought about doing the standard ricerburner drive-by (I decided against it, I had already made myself out to be another asshole in an underperforming car anyway). My cousin and I drove home, laughing it off, because frankly it was never even a question who would win. Thought you guys could use a laugh, so I figured why not post it. Again, my car was COMPLETELY STOCK when this occured. take it easy guys, thanks
PS - This happened in Minneapolis, coming out of St. Louis Park, so if the guy driving the WRX last Friday is on this board, I'd love to hear from you (rematch? haha, yeah right...long way to go before I could take a WRX). thanks

what could hurt is that you could've been caught racing in a stock car against a car that you knew would beat you. You would need to do alot of mods to beat that car, why did you risk it?

Dr. Disque - "It's better to regret a mistake than to regret a missed opportunity." It was just for kicks, and nothing happened. It's not like I've got a huge reputation or anything, it just hurt my pride, and it didn't do that all that much.

Right on 5-0. Wow, first time a domestic guy's ever backed me up. I figured you'd use this as a situation to tell me why civics are shit. You took the high-road, i really respect that. Take it easy, man. thanks

although i might not prefer hondas im definately not dumb enough to think im unbeatable
although i have never lost to one the closest race i had was a del sol with a gsr motor swap with drag 3 turbo running 6psi (im assuming either the internals were stock because the boost was low or they were forged and he was tuning the car). from a stop i put 2 cars on him to 60 and by 110 i was still a full car ahead and he stopped pulling me, same thing from a 10mph roll.
ive gotten my ass handed to me as well though, a wrx i ran for 100 bucks that had "INTAKE AND EXHAUST" let me go kinda off the line then passed me by 80 and completely destroyed me from a roll
and a 450crank hp rx-7 up in berlin with my old 88 gt with 3 people in it on tape ;) too bad from 40 - 100 he only got me by 2 1/2 3 cars thats the funny part too hhah
you never know until you race. if you lose OH well NO SHIT, if you win you get respect and it feels good, its win win kinda.

I have trouble constituting that as a race.

Ya those wrxs are nice. They are awesome off the line but kind of sluggish after that. I ran one from a dead stop. The guy killed me in first but as soon as I hit second I pulled him in and took him hit third and just kept pullin.
