Well I just got back from VW Winterfest this weekend, I'll have pictures and a write up posted later this week. The race happened on our trip down to LA. I left San Jose early and waited for some friends in Gilroy. Once they got there I led the pack over Pacheco pass. The 2 lane part had heavy traffic but once we hit the 4 lane I sped up to catch up to a colorful Del Sol I wanted to run. Unfortunately traffic wasn't helping so he got away. I was still about half a mile in front of the pack when my cell phone rang. It was a friend from the back that said a European car wanted to race me and was coming my way. I dropped it into 4th and started to go but when I looked in my mirror I saw a car coming up amazingly fast. I dropped it into third and stepped on it but there was little I could do. The car I decided to play with was a black Lamborgini Diablo. He was pulling on me but I thought I was keeping up pretty good. I hit 125 in fifth on the first uphill part and I'm assuming he was going a bit faster since he was about 3 cars ahead by that point when we came up on traffic and had to slow down. It was a guy that looked to be in his 40's, I gave a thumbs up and he waved back. I kept up with him through traffic for a while and then he got away from me so I decided to slow and wait for the rest of my friends. Yes I lost, but it was and probably will be my best race for a very long time.
