Wipeout @ Automall last night (2/23)

that "wipeout" was svp itr..it kinda lost control after the race with kizmet's gsx...anyhow the damage wasnt that bad so i wouldnt call it a wipeout. [shrugz]

the Kizmet GS-X won the race and at the end of the track the itr spunout... it was fixed today from what i have heard...

But everyone... there is no reason to be dumb and race where you have the ability to put anyone at danger including yourself and or your car...

Think about it... I have seen a lot of accidents that were easily avoidable, due to rain...

Ask Bins701 about the incident at ringwood a year or so ago... we saw a mini truck hit a tree dead center...

Be smart people... even good drivers like dave have problems on wet ground...

From what we saw and what dave said....he won at the end, not the gsx....that is why he spun out...he was pushing the car hard and was at a really high mph.....Just because the ITR hit the curb does not mean he lost,......obviously things like this happen when you drive an FF.

Our GSX only raced until his 3rd gear then started slowing down. I saw him in the lead since the launch then the itr passed him, span out then the launch area was in chaos. did the itr spin out cuz of it's brakes or accelerating too hard?

off the line the GSX jumped hard on the ITR, about two car lengths. By the end of 3rd gear the ITR passes up the GSX by at least a full car length and still pullin away. right after i passed him up i got on the brakes, not e-brake, but the ITR just spun a 180 into the curb. I dont wanna explain why it happened cuz u probably wouldnt understand. ill just say it had sumthing to do with the brake setup that its running. after at chevron, i heard KIZMIT and their little posse were cheerin and talkin shit, sayin "yea, the itr got smoked!" And the owner of that GSX told my Bro, when he asked what had happened, that he broke before The ITR passed him and spun right in front of his car. WTF, why you gotta lie to kick it. You know Ur AWD GSX got spanked by the ITR in the rain. Don't be sayin im bullshittin, cuz i gots this shit on tape. it clearly shows that i hit the hazards for at least 2 seconds before the GSX broke. So Nah Nah, Nah Nah Nah!!! If you Dont believe it, I think i hear a rematch comming....If you Dare do this when its DRY.

Sounds to me like your brake bias is of by an extreme amount. If you were going flat out in a straight line and jumped on the brakes, wet or dry, the car should not spin at all, even if the brakes lock up. The only reason for this would be either your brakes are WAY to biased to one side of the car, a caliper didn't engage up front, or the driver cranked the wheel while braking AFTER going at full power, which would have caused a tremendous weight transfer to the point that the car would have swapped ends. Being that I know DNR can drive, I think it's pretty safe to say that it probably wasn't that last one.

Like I said, try me. I think I have enough race car building experience and track time to understand what happened and how to avoid it.

well if some have you noticed that gil's car ran bogarts at sac. the bogarts he used were daves and they are 4 lug. and type-r's are 5 lug, in that case dave swapped the front to 4 lug so he could use the bogarts. with that exchange he used the 4 lug conversion from a civic so his front brakes are civic brakes, and the rear are still type-r rear brakes. so i guess when dave tapped on the brakes the rear locked up and spun the car. ( i think thats what i remember dave telling me )

It definately sounds like the bias is way off. Tell Dave to check summit or Jeg's for a brake proportioning valve for a universal application. They are usually pretty cheap and it will solve that problem easily.

Another thing that I forgot about was since he is in a FWD, any slight change in road surface (dips, bump, pit...) will cause the car to wander if it is under heavy braking, especially if the bias is off. I'm glad no one was hurt as cars and rims can be replaced, humans can't.

Ok for you people that don't know about the GSX and GST. I have friends that own both. The GSX is cool off the line but since it is all-wheel drive the higher gears are shit! My friends raced each other. The minute they both hit 3rd the GST pulled so hard on the GSX. Alls I have to say is that a GSX driver should know this by now. So he probally tried to say he won and cut the race short. So we got to get a rematch. And let me know cuz Ill bring both my boys and we can have a GSX vs GSX! Just a little 00 info!

OK..my opinion may be a little impartial being as though I'm in SVP, but I've heard from non-svp members that the ITR spun out in front of the GSX. Now..to any normal person they'd hear/see that and automatically know that the ITR was ahead. I mean, how can you spin out IN FRONT of a car if you're supposedly behind. Granted I wasn't there and I'm basing my reply on word of mouth...It's just I've heard many different stories and in the end of each story they all have the same happy ending...the ITR won. i was there on friday night when the SVP type r ran the eclipse GSX. i pretty much saw everything and heard both sides of the story. DNR much props to ur driving skills and that car. James i got to admit I thought u did take him. Everyone there who witness the race said you won. But hey at the end when dnr spun out it was very mature and kind hearted thing you did to go over there to check out if he was okay. I heard that svp is trying to get u guys to race them. I was at the runs that night and i after the race i heard some disturbing things when that big guy came up to u as if he was provoking a fight. IT was just a race, dont take it so hard. Only reason your cars stop pulling is because of the T2small turbo....not because it's an X or T, the damn thing just starts to run out of breath.

Only ones I know are in BADSM....and we all know what happened the last time they came out to the street races, I remember a lot of V8ers getting spanked left and right. Im part of BAYDSM too. I havent met too many of the guys yet but ive met a few up at sac for test n tune and a couple of them who were at pomona when i ran my car there. I disagree with the gst pulling away from the gsx on the highway. they are about the same and it depends on the mods. My roomate has almost the same setup as me and on the highway neither of us pull away from the other. I wouldnt mess with any of the bayarea dsm guys either cause im only fwd. At the track ill run them though. =) my roomates gsx may be quicker, but mines still faster. 106mph 1/4

that are running 10's...one is a 1st Gen GSX and the other is a 2nd Gen GS-T. Most of the other fast guys are running low 12's or somewhere in that range. And then the majority/rest of the guys pretty much fall into the 13 second bracket.

We aren't as lucky as the mid west states that have all the 9second and tons of 10second DSM's! Atleast we still have one really well know shop here in Cali.

to be carefull which car you rev on. You might think that it's not that big of a deal running a 12 second AWD DSM, but when you think about it.....that car runs 12's on the streets and on the track. WHere as other cars only run fast times on the track with VHT and slicks!

The reason why I got pulled on at the top end was becuase my local muffer shop exhaust, which was pressbent and was smaller than stock at the bend to the muffler (dynomax super turbo). Got a fix it ticket when I was caught at the Hayward runs so now I have the Apex N1 exhaust. But I still got the T too small. :(
