Ok, I have a 1996 Toyota Avalon XL that I've been doin some exterior mods on. I've been lookin for a couple months now and I can't find Altezza Euro style tail lights for my car. For all I know they prolly don't make those but is tehre an alternative, like any auto store arround Detroit that does custom made ones or anything i can do myself to get the Altezza look?
Thankz

Hey, I have a 99 Avalon and I didn't even know they made ANY aftermarket stuff for the Avalons. Care to share what you have done so far?

That'd be my guess. All the fast cars seem to have altezzas. I think the clear plastic might be lighter than the stock red plastic. Just keep looking.

wolf, i know all of my clears are lighter. no joke. stock lights are HEAVY. the clears are sooooo much lighter cause of the lack of dye.

Dude, Altezza's only belong on Altezza's. I'll forgive your for saying that since you're not in Californa. The east coast tends to be a couple years behind....

man all cars with altezzas make me back off...i know people are serious about perfromance when they buy 200$ lights instead of an intake or sumthing...man on show cars some of them are alright if it is alllll show...but i hate seeing them on stock civics, integras, preludes, anything stock and not a lightning or Lexus IS300

well so far, all my mods are custom and universal cuz yah, the avalon isnt a commericialized mod vehicle. For exterior i'm using a wings west 6th geniration civic mid wing. its funny how i posted this in february and people just began to relply to it =), but yah for the altezzas, I'm still deciding whether to do skyline style, which is really easy on the 95, 96, 97 avalon because you just have to paint the red part, or do altezza style. For altezzas, I already know someone who knows how to mold plastic to do it....and i also heard clearcorners.com also does customs if you send it in, I hear it takes about 2 weeks. I have a hiper industries tornado filter. My friend's dad knows how to weld aluminum so he's building me a cold air tube. No joke, he has a cold air in his civic hatchback he built, hp gain was 16hp at the wheels, and total cost of the tube was about $70....other than that, my friend found a lowering kit for the avalon specifically but he can't find the mag he got it from....as for body kits, I'm jus lucky there's people and shops here in detroit that can do custom kits for only $2000 not bad......anyways, hit me back aiight.....

I hate to be the one to tell you, but I think you've been buying into a little too much bullshit lately. For one, that tornado thing does not help at all, if it goes anything it hurts performance.
Also a civic will not see a 16hp gain from a new intake.

hey did not say I have a tornado, I have a hiper industries twist filter........its a normal high flow round filter......but it has a twist to do the same effect as a tornado....its jsut a temporary solution to not having an intake tube, it does give a small effect in the midrange comapared to just having a straight filter.......and the 16hp......yah thats allot....so for the sake of people not to hate.......also consider its an old used 89 civic......with a really dirty old filter....so the difference from the stock to the mod would be greater.........i know it suprised me too........but still for a home made intake....its pretty good......

16 WHP!?!?! WTF..... Im just curious, how could a guy that has to make his own intake afford to get it dynoed just to see what power it made?!? =P
unless the old intake was just a sock restricting the flow, 16 is kinda hard to believe!

Maybe I should rip my AIRNIX Breather out and put in one of those "Custom" Intakes........
Sounds like it can really improve my "Midrange" Performance.....man 16 HP, I should just rip the Greddy Turbo out of my Civic and go all motor with that kinda mod!
Thanks for the help TAJI

how many times do you people have to be told.....READ CAREFULLY....the stock filter was hella dirty, it wasn't changed for like years whoever the previous owner was....when set on the dyno....it ate up allota stock horsepower....when compared to the new custom intake.....no shit it would seep allot more......if you read again i explained that on my 3rd entry....damn yo....why all the hate...but it waws a 16 dif...i was there reading the results...........we concluded the stock filter was jus really badly clogged up with dirt and not to mention the carbon build up in the stock air hose.........we're still gonna see what a clean oem filter would do.....i know 16 was allot....my bad for not explain this the first time around.........but I already made a 2nd statement to explain it, and this is already the 3rd.........if you wanna read more about it go to apartment107.com and read the article I wrote about intakes....dont mean to be mean, but don't start hatin jus cuz I claimed to witness a 16hp gain aiightz....i told you already the possible explaination....aiight dont mean to hate aiight peace....

as for you....it wasn't my car, it was my friends car and his dad wanted to experiment with welding a a tube....he used a straight universal intake tube from APC, you know those cheap ass ones that are like 40 bux....and he rewelded another one for cold air.....iono where you got wit this "i can't afford shit"....thats why its called an experiment....just cuz you try new things don't make you poor....and what the hell.....this disscusion started about custom altezzas....:o

No that was when they came out with the TITANIUM ALUMINUM ALLOY STEEL wheels, they are silver and match nicely with the FAKE chrome look of those lovely ALTEZZAS.......;) :p :D

You're an idiot ricer. And use some punctuation besides ....... A civic does not gain 16whp, dirty filter or not. If the intake was clogged to the point of the car losing 16whp, it would porbably choke.
Only if the car was turbo would it have a chance of gaining that much power.
