Alright, i'm planning on doing an engine swap sometime this summer, either a b18c1 or a b16a2 into my EG Civic the thing is can i do this legally? I'm told that the b18c1 will not be legal because of the weight difference between the civic and integra and will not pass emissions. I've also been told that the b16a1 will not be legal because of emissions also considering this is an jdm engine. The b16a3 however should pass because it is a usdm engine. However, getting a usdm engine is much harder and more expensive then getting a jdm engine for me so i would prefer to get the b16a2. Another thing is the del sol engine is also considered a b16a2 even though it's rated at about 5-10 hp lower then jdm engine (because of the ecu i believe) so has anyone actually legalized their engine swap before? also i live in CA where the emissions is strictest so....

First of all, the JDM b16a is THE only JDM b16a no numbers after it(b16a1, b16a2, etc..). as for the emissions problem, goto http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/ they'll tell you ALL the stuff ya need to know about engine swapping and then some.
