2000 GT Stang VS LS/VTEC

Just have a question. Whats the chance of me beating a 2000 GT. So far I race a 5th gen prellude and I beat him by 4 to 5 cars. Also a Boxy 5.0 and i beat him by 3 to 4 cars. I had my 17" rims then but Im putting back my gsr wheels. I have a Fully built motor done by JG. 1995 Ls block w/ 1995 GSR head. ITR internals( pistons, rings, bearing and etc.) Mugen ECU w/ 9,000 RPM Rev Limit, ACT 6 puck, Racing cat, Tanabe exaust, DC headers, AEM cai, MSD ignition. I just want to know if I have a chance because I have this co worker and he keeps on asking me race

You never can tell untill u just line em up and race. I can say one thing though if u are not it all depends on how modified the 00 gt is also. They are capble of high to mid 13s completly stock.
Who really cares though it will be fun all u can do is race him and find out.

Yeah its bored out to 2.0 with a stroker kit and I have an ITR cams. I havent really push the car I only go up to 7,000 RPm. I only have 1,200 mile on the new motor...

He has a 2000 GT automatic. no mods, what you think his 1/4

I've heard of those GT's running mid 14's but with your setup I think it'd be pretty close. Give it a shot.

The 99-2001 mustang GT's are the fastest mustangs since the 5.0 LX Mustangs in 80's and early 90's. There good for 14.5's or so. Good match for a LT1 Z28.

I think the GTs are not even close with the Z28, Maybe if its a saleen.

Z28's aren't that fast. 14's like the GT. The Cobra is in the 13s with 320 hp.

well, the 5 speed 99+ GTs, the reviewers have tested to go 14.2 in the quarter, Auto i would generally add about .3 so lets say 14.5 stock.

But yea the LT1s are a good match for the new 4.6s. basic boltons and you can run high 13s with a GT...add gears, looking at mid 13s, blower, low 13s, high 12s.

Not too shabby eh??

Every stock 4.6 I've seen with the exception of the cobra is sickly week. They couldn't stay in sight of the 5.0's.
