What are you doing about your compression ratio?

Well the whole top end is going to be redone, pistons, rods rings etc..everything forged, im not sure as to the compression ratio that we are going to lower it to, i still have the technicians working on that..

What do you suppose your hp will be, and also quarter mile times?

Well i can speculate on what my numbers will be but thats all it is speculation. so my guesses is somewhere in the neigborhood of 600 rwhp and low tens in the quarter..

I have no doubt you will reach that hp # to the wheels. Especially if you're bullet-proofing your bottom end you will be able to tolerate lots of boost! Didn't Lingenfelter turbocharge a Camaro SS before? just curious.

that crazy guy charged like 25k for his kit on the camaro I think.. SHEESH!..

Well I know he charges another $30k for turbocharging a corvette. Will make 670 hp after the kit is in with tuning.
Not a dis my man but the pistons are in the bottom end (lower end or shortblock) of the motor.
The heads/intake/cam are referred to as the top end.
Either way a turbocharged LS1 car would be a car that even I would back down to.

Very true sir, so I should more properly say, I am rebuilding the top end AND installing lower compression forged pistons.

You will love the turbo, not to mention that you should be very careful with the stock pistons and rods.

so how does a single turbo work on a v8, i'm just wonderin does one bank of cylinders drive the turbo or is it a crazy maniflod that incorporates both banks? i've seen the twin set-up for the corvettes which is pretty easy to understand. also what will you be using for fuel and ignition management? i just find it really interesting especially if you are fabbing this up yourself
Most of the V8's just use one manifold I believe, prolly better for power. I could only imagine the crazy manifold that would have to be built to make the turbo incorporate both manifolds. :)

SSanJose, will the stock crank hold up to that power. I don't know too much about the whizz-bang LS-1, but I know my brothers circle track motor needed mobifications to the block to handle 700 horse on dirt. If you get a good launches, its way harer on the parts than dirt oval racing

what are you going to do for a drive train cause your tranny, driveshaftand u joints aren't going to be able to handle that.

ssanjoseracer,
if you plan on pumping out 675 hp at the rear look at 700 on the flywheel at the dyno, then balance the check book cause your motor is goona be taking a trip a nasty one i recomemd(im recomending not preaching cause its happend to me)that you just build a whole new motor to withstand that power then you will want to look into a fuel system to accomadate ,plus a trans and that weak link of a rearend 7.5's are junk get a ford 9 or a 12 bolt, plus your a unibody time for sub frames and possibly a cage then ya gotta get it to hook...well good luck.if ya get it out drop me a line and you can ask "you wanna run that shit"and well see what your pulling
late
How much boost you planning on running?
That's what'll determine the HP levels and if your engine can take it. Just get an adjustable boost controller and keep the boost low until you know your car can take it.
