i am about to buy my first car and it is down to a 95 integra gs-r or a 96 TSi AWD talon

Personally, I cant beleive someone would compare the two cars, the Talon is way better. GSR's suck, pricey and underpowered. Look nice though. But, at least they have VTEC:rolleyes:

If you are stuck on the getting the GSR, why not get a '98, they look better, and mines for sale! :D

I would say go with the talon. Much more potential with the turbo and awd. The bottom end of a 4g63 can handle lots of horsepower. But if you're gonna get a talon...look for a first gen. The motors in those are way better than the second gens. And you'll save a shit load of money getting a first gen that you can put into mods. My buddy bought a first gen gsx and within a day we did all the free mods to it and runs a hell of alot stronger than earlier that morning.

There is alot of money to be spent to get an integra into the 12s even. Buy the sounds of the domestic, i think its a winner over the teg. You might have to change your Signature, ha....

The AWD Talon is the way to go. More power, better handling. Tegs are nice but for the price you aren't getting as much.

To be honest, it's your first car. Get something short and sweet to work on that will be reliable and yield good results. To this day I say one of THEE BEST cars to learn would be an 89 or 90 240SX. Great handling, RWD, the KA24de works out nice, you can teach yourself N/A or a custom turbo setup with it, and it's extremely affordable. The Talon will have a plethora of problems since it is your first car and I swear to you on this. You're going to be AWD launching left and right and breaking a good amount of parts. If you consider yourself mature enough to handle it and not drive around like...98% of all 16 year olds then fine. Go for it. But, mark my word, if you beat and abuse the car like your friends with their 95 Civics it is NOT going to be as nice about it (especially the drivetrain)

Get an old 240SX or a Dodge Neon ACR. Cheap parts, great learning car, and decent enough performance for a person who has it as a first car. Don't ruin yet another one of the dying DSM breed (especially the best looking one IMO, the 2g Talon)

i change my mind teg boy. i agree with oreopride. its gonna be ur first car, get something to learn in and something cheap and easy to fix. 240 would be a good choice. handles nicely, enough power to get u moving, and fun as hell to drive once u find a nice curvy road. tell u the truth its a sexy ass lookin car if u take care of it too.

Pardon? I know of a website that will allow you to do a custom 1k turbo setup that will make the 89 240s run 13's in the 1/4. 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. The N/A prospect of the car isn't too bad but it's good enough for around 175HP. Ka24e truck engines are cool.

All the 90-99 Talons, Lasers and Eclipses are considered DSM. It is the acronym for Diamond Star Motors which was really disolved in 93. Since the cars for those years are all similar and were all built in the same plant in Normal IL they are still referred to as DSM's.
