Your gonna lose...
Why not just take the car out and run a few of these people instead of speculating all the time. Believe me you will acctually get more respect going out and running a few of these cars than being a spectator. All the advice you ever needed was given to you prior to buying your car. Now there are 20+ posts in the wrong forums that are beginning to annoy people. I have more losses than I have wins here, but my boys think I am nuts for getting out there and taking a waxing from a GT-R or a RX-7. But you know what? I still go out, and I take the waxing, why? because you never know what will happen against the other guy. He may miss a shift, the clutch might let go, the tranny breaks, or he blows an engine. not wishing bad luck to any of my opponents, but the car is only one aspect of the drag race, the other is the driver. I spent 3 nights just practicing launches when I first bought my car, all by myself. You have to become one with the vehicle you are driving. You have to know what it will do in certain situations and how to correct it when things go wrong. But sitting in front of a computer and "bench racing" isn't gonna help you be a better driver, and unless your playing the Nitto Challenge your not going to win races sitting there either. Imagine the pride I would have for beating a GT-R or another highly modified car because the driver sucks...
Now get off here and go practice. And get yourself into a driving school, believe me there are things that can be done in a car you never dreamed of doing, and it will make you better in your all around driving.

That's why an Auto CAN beat a Manual. Auto are very consistent while manuals depend on the skill of the driving I once heard of a Lamborghini Diablo running a slower time on a track run than a stock Honda Civic and Geo Prizm (Don't believe me, then check out riceboypage.com) You might be a very gifted driver and beat my Stock 01 V-6 Accord Coupe even through Car and Driver numbers say I should go 0-60 .3 seconds faster and run the 1/4 .1 faster. I beat my co-workers Solara V-6 5 Speed because she missed 3rd gear. It was a once in lifetime result there, but you never know what will happen. Say a kid barrowed his dad's Supra and you line up to race him. He thinks he's all cool, but he can't shift worth #@!! so you blow him away. The situations are endless. I may have a slow car compared to almost anyone here, but even I have gotten lucky and beat a 00 Maxima SE 5 Speed. Of course you'll have bad days, like when I lost to a 01 Audi A4 Quattro on the freeway and lost to a 325i because I screwed up at the launch and even lost to Volvo S80 T5 because I thought they were slow. Good Luck
