...and one I've wondered about for some time. Say someone comes along and puts a flyer on your windshield, without any consent given by you whatsoever. Now, say you take off the offending material and drop it on the ground. So, are you considered guilty of litering even though you are just removing an unwanted piece of material that does not belong to you in the first place? I get these all the time at school and just wondered.:)

In the situation you described, you'd be the one littering. Unsolicited flyers are a pain and are regulated by a number of cities in their municipal codes. If the flyers really bug you, talk to your school administration about having their security/police department enforce any anti-flyer rules they have.
