I was driving along Brodie and I hear a growl of an import coming up and I see that its a celica, probably about a 95. So I speed up and stop at the light in the turn lane. He pulls up next to me and smiles and takes off so I downshift and start catching up. It was my first race I got the car like a week before, a 1992 Mazda MX-3 1.6l SOHC bone stock. So we're side by side and I pull ahead and start red lineing in 3rd so I upshift and cut between the right lane of traffic and a bunch of parked cars then I had to slam on brakes because a fucking SUV cut me off. I was at least 3 car leangths in front of that celica when I beat it. He was as shocked as I was I waved as I made a u-turn to hit up the car wash. Damn it felt good. It made me realize that racing is half driver half car. Ive got mad respect for all racers out there, even though Im still new in the scene with my STOCK MX-3, but that will change as soon as I get a job. PEACE.
