1: that's an ok deal, might be able to find a better one on ebay though....does that include a box?...

2: i like to see atleast 250-300 watts on each 12....

3: infinity reference highs are pretty nice for a budget speaker.......if you like the subs, why not give their highs a try too right?....

the most important thing to do when you pick any equipment is to make sure you listen to as many different similar products you can before you put any money down...all the praise in the world from people on the net isn't going to do you anything if you don't like how it sounds......

I've got 2 12" Infinity References, and even though they're on the "low end" of Infinity's roster, they're damn amazing. $120 is a pretty good deal too.

ok, i got a 12" kappa perfect,

i was looking to get 2, but so far other aspects of my car are taking the cash...

my question for you sniper is

i have a kenwood KAC 929
2 channel 1000w max

would it be enough to power the 2 12's??
or should i just do the single woofer since itts a dvc?

as for mids, and highs, i already have 5 1/2 eclipses for the door panels, and i have an empty 4" opening, i was thinking of kappa perfect for that space, any other suggestions?

that all depends on what ohm the coils are and what ohm the sub will run at....so what are the specs?...

unless you really know what you're doing, running more than one type of high close together like that is going to give you alot more problems that it's worth......if you want a better sound, i'd suggest looking into amping them or giving them more power/headroom....possibly looking at some EQ's if you've alreay done that......

specs for the sub.......

Power Handling, RMS: 350 Watts
Power Handling, Peak: 1400 Watts
Frequency Response (±3dB): 18Hz - 150Hz
Sensitivity: 96dB
Impedance: 4 Ohms (DUAL VOICE COIL)
Mounting Depth: 6-1/2"

these are the specs for the amp...

Bridged Power Output at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 460 Watts x 1
Maximum Output Power: 1000 Watts
Power Output at 2 Ohms, at 14.4V (1kHz, 0.8% THD): 230 Watts x 2
Power Output at 4 Ohms, at 14.4V (20Hz-20kHz, 0.08% THD): 150 Watts x 2

is the amp good enough for 2 of these? or should i just give it one channel per coil??

as for the 4" those are gonna be in the dash, and the 5 1/2's are in the door panels.....is that still too much?

thanks for your help:hi:

if you really wanted to get another sub, wire each coil in parallel, and then put each sub on a seperate channel.....that wuld give them 230w a peice...not too shabby..........if you put speakers in the dash and in the door, you're going to hear the dash ones first and then get a sort of echo effect from the doors....not a good thing......they're also going to screw the imaging, because unless you do some fab work, the drivers side probably points straight at you.....whereas the passengers doesn't even come close.....so basically, you'd only be hearing the one speaker out of the four that are there.........

thanks for the tips sniper...

one more question,

would it be ok to run the door panel speakers, and have a component set in the kick panels?
the sound would be coming from the same area at about the same time....

its that i have an 86 mr2, and do not have much space for speakers inside..:(

that would be the best thing to do even if you didn't want to put the others in the doors....kicks are the best place for speakers 99% of the time.......
