Ford XR 6 Turbo

Out of Curiosity, have any of you guys herd of the Australian Ford XR 6 Turbo?

Ford Australia have been pretty shit for a while, with nothing really special to offer. Now just this last month or so they released their new range of family car. One of them is a SPORTS MODEL XR 6 TURBO, it runs 14 SEC stock and it's a 6 not an 8. Not bad by Ford this year....For a family car.

Yeah, the Falcon and the Fairmont are the two versions of family car by ford. Falcon is bottom of the line, Fairmont is more luxury. And Yeah, there's a Fairmont V8. It's not as Quick as the XR 6 Turbo though..

How'd you hear about Fairmont and Falcon?

I herd that the owner or manager of holden in US came to austraila and fell in love with or Holden Manaro V8. And now he drives that around in the states.

Mazda 6, yeah we have that aswell.

Not sure how powerful it is though, not many on the streets here yet. They look good comming from Mazda...Does your version have those silver lights, kinda like altezza's...

Just sayin that in Australia the New XR 6 is pretty hot shit at the moment, runs the same speed as a holden SS Commodore...Well to 60mph any way.

How do you know about them if you live in the states?

What amazes me is that Ford never brought the Ford Puma (it's in the european market) here. Let's just say its an MX-3-look with an attitude and a lighter weigh.

Actually what you do is open up the restricted exhaust system they come in. The elbow from the downpipe is really restricted to.

Reason being, Ford has purposely stopped the horsepower war ever since the XA Phase IV was banned from production due to it being "too powerful". So technically Ford won the horsepower war and they wish to keep it that way so they try to not start it up again or they might lose the title.

BTW I raced the new BA XR6 the other day, they aint that quick compared to the imported sports cars. I believe the N/A MKIV Supras would be able to take them on. Those cars are by far too heavy.

I cant wait :) i hate fords.
you be suprised what i have beaten in my NA. A new monaro, not cause the supra is fatser, only because the majority of ford and holden drivers cant drive

Yeah, General Motors here. Owns Chevy/GMC/Buick/Oldsmobile/Saturn and Holden in Aus. The Monaro will be in the US in either 03 or 04 as the Pontiac GTO w/ the LS1 V8. But the GTO front end is ugly as sin compared to the Monaro one.

The new Monaros are slow though even though they are around 2sec's quicker than your Supra (I think, unless you gotten quicker). There are many dickheads in fords and holdens thinking they're hot shit but get wasted, and do what we know as a "ricer flyby".

Hey want to run against my Supra this weekend while it still has its Auto tranny? lol if so let me know because I want to run against a MKIV for a video I am making. (Whether I win or lose, its going to be on the video!)

P.S - Was it you near Ocean Reef on December 11th around 11pm-12 midnight? because I think I saw you but I was too busy testing my new Uniden Radar Detector. It was at the lights just before Venturi Drive.

That XR6T isn't bad. The price is $43kAUS = $25kUSD. It's got 323hp/331torque. Very nice.

There are bringing over the Holden GTO Monaro which is kind of a Commodore but with a fuckload more power and has only 2 doors.

Excellent! I just want to have it a small cruise, bring a friend or so if you feel uncomfortable. I most likely have a few friends who want to tag along to look at supras :)

Might need to be next weekend dude! I got mods being installed at Technik Car Audio on Thursday! so maybe Friday we can cruise :)

The Cruise is still on! people are backing out but its still like 50+ cars! :)

Edit: Car ain't stock but I guess its close to. Yes it is the new Supra. Lets just say, the auto tranny can barely handle the power and sometimes slips for around 3-4 seconds :p (got to save up for the R154!)
