Mustang VS. FOCUS

Tonight me and my girl where coming home and I was stopped at a light waiting for it to turn green. I look in my rearview and see this red focus with japanese writing on the hood coming at me flying. When He goes by the light had just turned green and I was just barely moving and he throws 2 loud rev's at me. I was like wtf no way am I going to let this happen. My girl tells me to kick his ass which I thought was really funny and I just absolutely hammer it. The road wsa a little wet so when I catch traction he is about 6 cars ahead of me 8 to 10 seconds later I'm passing 75 to 80 and I have already pulled about 3 cars on him. The funny thing was I think it was this guy from my school and I was going to pull over and talk to him but when I turned on my signal he just does a U-turn in the road and heads the other way I guess he was embarassed that he had a head start and couldn't hold it for more that a couple seconds till I smoked his ass (BAD), Honestly I thought those car were a little faster than that I guess not. Any body in here ever raced one of those things, let me know how you did.

I have not raced a Focus yet. Don't worry the new SVTs are going to be a hell of a lot faster 2 liter 4cyl rated at 170hp+ hooked to a 6spd.

Regular Focus's aren't fast...high 15 sec cars at best. I wouldn't worry more than a second if you could beat him or not. Like Tanker said, watch out for the new SVT Focus coming out soon...that should be pretty decent.

Lilghoust, in the 2001 Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog, there is a kit to bolt the 6-speed out of the Cobra R into a '99+ stang

i'll admit they are not the fastest things, but i love mine...with 130 hp 135 tq it's not the slowest thing either...i like to huumiliate the ricers around here that put huge tips on like the lowest models available and think they are fast...not to say they can't be, just that everyone around here just tack-ifys em with fake crome n stuff...and no real mods

how much do you expect for 12,000 big ones eh...

on the other hand with an aerocharger stage IV turbo kit i can have an otherwise stock zx3 running 200+ hp at the wheels...pretty nice huh...and costs considered 12,000 for the car...3,300 for the complete turbo kit with intercooler and everything...and i'm only looking at 15,300 + install

plus a couple other mods (intake, etc..) it's up from there

which aitnt too bad...still less that the SVT actually

I still have never seen any race a focus. I now it is being done but i am not sure i would want to wast the gas or tires on it. I would love to see them out there whipping but though I love any fords that are fast.

Actually since posting this message I have drove a 01 ZX3 and it turns out the guy I raced just couldn't drive the thing, it was suprisingly fast. SOOOOO I traded my mustang today for a silver ZX3 and I love it. Its kind of funny how I thought the thing was slow as hell and then I fall in love with it. buy the way anyone know how to change your username because 94 stang needs to be 01ZX3.

What kind of times are you running know, and also how long did you let you car break in before you started to really open it up.

By the way REDRUM have you seen the new issue of Sport Compact where they say that the first street driven naturally aspirated Focus that beaks 14 or below will get featured in the mag and any forced induction car with no nitrous that breaks 13.5 will get the same treatment. Maybe you should check into that if you expect to be running 13's

Well i was going to go to the track this past weekend but....rain rain rain rain and more rain. but im heading off this coming weekend so ill let you know then. ive heard of the article and that was one of the driving forces in me preping teh car the way i have. its not really that high tech, N/A i shoulod be running high 14s but with copious amounts of nitrous i should bust low 13s. maby even a 12. but well see maby ill jsut blow up and cry. hehe
