I have a vortech s trim supercharger. It seems as if the pulley that it is on is overheating. My engine is always getting hot quickly. Could this be a problem of the supercharger or something else?

i havent heard of a blower causing an overheat. Check all hoses/radiator first. It might be a good idea to get a vortech aftercooler to cool the incoming air though.

if the pulley itself is heating up to the point it's like an exhaust manifold then it could be the supercharger going bad, but usually if it is siezing up the belt will squeal, still if it is an older or used sc have it checked out, and i totally agree check all you hoses for breaks even a small coolant line break can cause you coolant temp to fluctuate

How much PSI are you running on that supercharger. I take it if its an S trim vortech you didnt get the aftercooler. What year is your car? Are you the chick with the mustang? Well if you stang is a 4.6 liter your running 9:0.1
Which means that you dont want to go any higher than 9psi without an after cooler. 7 would be safe. Anytime you use a supercharger without an after cooler you will produce far more heat inside the engine. Your super charger forces air in the engine which means your compression will increase. Compression adds heat.
Now it may not be your charger... You might have an air pocket in your radiator. If you havent changed radiator fluids lately then its not goign to be that. Your thermostat might not be opening up. Listen to see your your fans kick on if you can once your car gets hot.
Main things to check - thermostat, airpocket in radiator, fans.
If youve had your supercharger on for a good while now and it has just started doing this then its probably not your supercharger
