so i hear theres going to be some streetracing on boston public on monday. anybody gonna watch it?

How come whenever they show 'racers' on TV, people are SO quick to talk shit about it or laugh at it as if they're too cool for the fucking room? Who gives a shit. It's just TV. If they want to show 19-second cars racing each other, let them. A race is a race is a fucking race, no matter how long it takes to complete a quarter mile or a lap around a track. The majority of the viewers of "Boston Public" probably don't know the fucking difference anyway. If you want to see fast cars, watch Speedvision. If you want to watch corny-teenie-bopper-dramas, watch "Boston Public".

i love how every week on that show, they "tackle" a "serious" problem concerning "today's youth". it's the exact same script every week with a few words changed every now and again.

The only thing I hate is when they show them racing on a crowded street like that, and a lot of people think we do race on streets like that. It just give a bad name for us.:(

nobody watches Boston Public anyway, it has gotten so absurd that all these bad things happen to one school, that everyone who ever did watch it, has stopped.

yeah it was just on, fuckin retarded. It had one scene where 2 civics raced, a girl in the back screams bout it, then the rest of the show the phys teahcer talks to him bout it and shows him what a car looks like hittin somethin solid at 32 mph, no more racin.

and a member from there was the owner of the blue civic and the yellow civic was his buddys..both are turbocharged SI's..forgot if it had any internal work done
but yeah, just letting u know it isnt just another "rice rocket" from the streets running 17 second timeslips..
and he said the white graphics were just for the show..

I believe it raised a very good point. Even though Hollywood exaggarted (sp) it a bit, (the odometer and RPM), and romanticized it it probably prevented some people from doing it. It was like the liberty insurance commerical, they showed cars crashing, and how bad it would become.
Street Racing in any shape, way or form is dangerous and can kill people. I'm not surprised the girl in the back began to trip out after they did 120 or so (:rolleyes: :) ) on the street and spun out, because it was scary.
Just remeber, use your head, and you won't be dead. :D

tv is worse than the movies when it comes to being true to life, It has been going on for years, does anyone remember the erkyl episode where that girls he was in love with is going out with a "street racer". They end up racing and erkyl builds a dragster out of his goofy three wheeled car and beats him(my favorite). Beverly Hills 90210 did it, CHIP's (ponch and john) did it once a season. Atleast in CHIP's they had fast cars.......
