i was planning on swapping stock with a b16. i have an auto 94 ex right now and plan on converting it to stick with the swap. anyways i went to a local shop and one of the mechanics was offering to sell his used supercharger for about 1500 and install it for 300. he said he had it for a month and blown his engine after racing some guy on the street. anyhow, i was wonderin if its worth installing it or jes getting the swap? what are some negatives bout the supercharger and if i do plan on getting it should i switch the tranny also? thanks!

You said he blew his motor, right? Well, there's your answer right there. A SOHC motor isn't ideal for a supercharger, especially if you're going to be racing it like that mechanic did. You'll need to do a lot more to that engine than just install the SC, or YOU'll be the one with a blown motor. Plus, you're starting out with 127hp and building from there. Wouldn't it make more sense to start out with, say, 160 hp (B16A1) or 170 hp (B16A2)? But if the stock motor has low miles on it and is in good shape, then you're not that bad off if you decide to get the super charger first. Your decision.

get the supercharger... and i'll bet after 2 months of running that sc you'll still want that b16 swap:D
