my buddy just bought a new rsx he went to the track with me saturday when i raced that guy from my other thread (kicked his ass) anyways he ran an 1/8 at the track in 11.4 seconds (:lame )at 63mph now what the hell is up with that his response time was .8 which isnt half bad for an amatuer he wants to know whatr he can do to get a better time out of it:banghead :sadly any help he needs it

How many miled are on his car, if its less than 3-4000 he shouldn't have been going to the track anyway, thats bad for the car, but he should drop a couple tenths as the car wears in. Also, was he using proper brake-torque techniques? how experienced is he? what rpm was he launching at? what mods does he have done? when's the last time he cleaned or replaced his air filter and changed his oil? there's alot of things that can make a car run slow, especially a new one.

ya, definitely have him do the maintenance, first oil change takes out alot of shit and should be done within 3000 miles of delivery. You didn't answer how he was launching, that's pretty important with an automatic.

i dont know how he was launching its pretty sad he bought the automatic hes already been bitched at for that but needless to say he got his ass handed to him by a beetle that night :wtf

well for drag an automatic isn't that bad, just have him read the stickies in the Drag racing forum.
