Its not a kill story..but it would have.
Me and my friend where cruising in his dads VW GTI VR6 on a not so busy road and this SE-R was swerving, tailgating and then flew buy us. He was at a red light in the right lane and my friend just looked at me and we where like...we could blow this guy away. But then this EX pulled next to it and. . green light- the SE-R shot out in front of the EX chirping through every gear, and just then from out of nowhere lights and sirens flashing, a cop car blocks off all three lanes, the cop gets out, and directs the SE-R to pull over. We were like...holy shit that could have been us.

Happens to me all the damn time. Choose your street races wisely. Its more fun on the crowded roads, it involves more skill and some to the car

Well, stock vs. stock the VR6 would take the SE-R. But you never know what's under the hood. And if the SE-R was driving by himself and in the VR6 there are two people, that's a lot of extra weight you're carrying. I'm not defending the asshole driver, I'm defending the car. This whole "it would have been a kill story" is a bit ridiculous.

SE-Rage, do you have an SE-R? The VR6 only had a chip. I Know how crazy those SE-Rs can get, dont they have the silvia motor minus the Turbo? SR20DE. Ive also read SCCs project SE-R, and talk about that thing ripping it up.

I own a black 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R. The SR20DE engine is an inline 4 with aluminum block and head. The SE-R also comes with a viscous limited slip differential and the curb weight is only 2594 lb. 1/4 mile times range from 15.8 to 16.2 and 0-60 times range from 7.6 to 8.2 depending on who's test you look at. Not bad for something that was initially produced in 1991.
The SR20DE and SR20DET are very similar. The block is the same so the SR20DE can handle as much power as the DET. But there are a lot of small differences to acclimate the SR20 to the turbocharged platform, such as oil squirter piston coolers, lower compression, bigger injectors, etc.

Oh yeah, Searl's car is something else. No way can I compare my SE-R to his... Man. Check out the website some more and even join the mailing list. Those guys are extremely informative and are exceedingly nice. Which is another reason why I like the SE-R guys as opposed to this ricer attitude that comes with a Civic all too often.

Hehehe. I know what you mean. I've never had a Nissan owner talk shit to me when I said I liked the Daewoo Lanos and showed him what they are capable of. They're not by any means the fastest car out there, but the Nissan guys were like - "So, it still looks cool and is pretty fast." Nissan people, as has been my experience, are generally open minded and not egotistical. Oh, they were also impressed that I LOVE Maserati!!!!! Like I said, cool people, unlike the endless barrage of ignorant shit flowing out of the Honduh crowd.

Totally dude. And it takes refined taste to get into the Maserati. =) I was pretty impressed when I saw one in person. The biturbo intimidated me a bit (me being the naturally aspirated weakling that I am). I have to get a turbocharger. This naturally aspirated thing just isn't working out for me. Hehe. =)

Thaose things were like $24,000-$28,000 brand new IN 1984!!!!!! BMW 3-series started becoming the "yuppie" car, and even though the Maserati was a better performance car, the BMWs were less expensive and people were more interested in image than speed. Now, you can get pretty good deals on one, when you can find one! Plus, they are unique unlike sooooooooo many other imports out there (not that there is anything wrong with the other cars. I just like to be different than anyone else. Maserati and Daewoo are definatley different!)

My favorite small Nissan car is the NX2000 and I have seen some DAMN fine turbocharged models! Got the worst speeding ticket of my life in a NX2000 - 105 in a 65! Cost me $250 but no points and no wreckless driving!
