What shops should I go to get mods installed? Mods like say an exhaust system, shocks, springs etc.. Should I try my neighborhood Discount Tires, Midas, do those shops do installation. I live in Anaheim, anyone recommend any shops near there.

try to avoid chain stores at all costs. Try to find independent tire and exhaust shops to do work like that and there's likely a plethora of places in your area to do performance mods if you don't feel like gettind dirty yourself. It did take me 2 years to find a tire place that I trusted though.

Or how about finding a friend that will help show you how to work on your car? It is amazing how simple just about everything is once you learn the very basics. I do everything myself unless it involves welding, I have saved many thousands of $ in my 10 years of driving by doing this.

just get yourself some nice drive on jacks, and maybe two jackstands for the back. i put on my own header and intake, if i didnt need my exhaust cut and welded i would have put it on also. all you really need some nice basic tools which every man should have, and a little patience... maybe alot of patience!

I agree, do it yourself.
I don't trust any sort of car shops/garages. This past Saturday, I had to take my downpipe to a muffler shop to get the end expanded to fit another pipe before I installed it, they expanded it too much and split it.
But the real problem started when my car was broken into 1 1/2 years ago at a Nissan dealership, those assholes.

Yeah dude I kinda know how you feel I took my car to the dealer for an oil change at Hardin Honda in Anaheim and one of their mechanics left a fuckin screwdriver right next to the radiator fan.
Good thing I was about to install my intake when I found that shit there. I'm never taking my car in to a dealer for minor work I can do myself or with a friend's help.
