You need to go back and research the long discussion on front plates from a previous thread. The short answer; yes and no.

In fact, there are multiple license plate threads. Use the search feature and either use my name or the phrase license plates and you will find a ton of them.

Most of the time I spend on this board is on my own time. Occasionally I drop in at work as well. I don't have to show up at all. This isn't an assignment for myself, or any other officer who spends time here.

Wow, someone in here has no patience. Last time I checked, we're not getting paid to do this. . it's strictly our own free time. AND from what I have heard, the DMV has jacked the price up on the NO Front Plate fix-it ticket to approximately $100.00!!!!! Talk about a steep fine! I guess the DMV had sooo many people that had these tickets so they increased the dollar amount. Put that front plate on or else you will be stuck with this hefty fee.
Keep it real and be safe!

Matt,
Thanks for stepping in. I'm not in charge on this site. I am voluntarily here to assist those that have questions about street racing, consequences, and/or just general questions about the law.
Keep it real and be safe! ;)

Get the moderators to check the ip of the person who posted those posts. They were offensive but not that bad if the person was looking to get you banned. This leads me to think that you logged in at a public computer and some random person accessed the page and due to the auto-logins just posted a thread like this under your username.
Remember to always logout of this board everytime you use a public computer or a friends for that matter.

no one had the time to hand you everything on a silver platter. everyone here who helps others are doing it on their own time. why should we help your lazy ass if you aren't even to put forth 5 minutes of effort to do some work yourself?
cops get paid to enforce laws, not answer them. lawyers who charge you $125 an hours do that. just be glad that they are here on their own time helping everyone out
why am i wasting my time typing this? from your immature response you wouldn't get it anyway

ok i have a question.. i run my front plate because i know it's illegal.. and it's just another reason to get pulled over.. but the way i run the plate is iffy.. I've talked to a few officers out at Moffet field.. (my brother works out there.) and i want other opinions.. it can be seen/read from the front.. it's just not vertical.
here's a pic..

just put your front plate on ..
i was told by a judge in san jose
that as along as you had the same plate on the front as on the back then u are fine... meaning u can cut the california part of or bend it to fit where u want just like mine ...
it fits right in the middle of the hole in my bumper in the link ...
SgtGrant

Well, I'm not so sure that is what the judge meant. If you modify, bend, or cut your plate you are in violation of these sections in California:
4851. Every license plate shall have displayed upon it the
registration number assigned to the vehicle for which it is issued,
together with the word "California" or the abbreviation "Cal." and
the year number for which it is issued or a suitable device issued by the department for validation purposes, which device shall contain the year number for which issued.
4464. No person shall display upon a vehicle a license plate
altered from its original markings.
Of course you might get cited and then get an easy judge, but then again, you might not.

if people are so annoyed with fron license plate law, why can't they simply voted out of the california statues. are all of you guys illegal or something??
