question about strobes

If I were to put strobes in the headlights, would i be able to saftely have them, assuming i dont use them on public roads (just to screw around with my friends, roll up to parties, etc)....would a cop ever check for something like that, if i got pulled over for something else (like interior lights, or speeding or whatever)?

They're legal to have, as long as they're for offroad use only. If you get caught using them on a public highway, you'll have to remove them or at least disconnect the wiring to have the citation signed off. An officer most likely would ask you to disconnect the wiring on the spot.

Well Im from NY and I know you CAN NOT use them at all.. Not on the streets and not offroad either..

My friend had the strobes that connect through the head lights, you can change the colors too.. He got a $150 ticket.. Blue is fire department and white and red are cops, yellow is construction and green is EMS... I think what you should do is call your local police department and ask them your local laws..

Only problem is EACH state has their own laws on vehicles and taking advice from others NOT in your area is not a good idea..

i personally find those annoying when people use them on public roads. but i dont think a cop would check specificaly for them as long as you dont use them for stupid reasons.
