View Full Version : how do i wash my carbon fiber hood?

ever since i got my cf hood my friends have been telling me that i need to wash it in a certain way...since i know nothing about washing it..and didn't know you hjad to wash it in the first place, so my first reaction is to ask here:bam:

thats my guest, just don't use anything abrassive so you don't scratch your hood though

I'd think that anything safe to use on regular automotive finishes would be fine for a CF hood, too. Steer clear of Scotchbrite and Comet and you'll be fine. Also, dishwashing detergent is a big no-no, because it will strip wax right off. Use a product designed for washing cars, not one that's strong enough to loosen baked-on lasagna...
