1) when i try to accelerate at full throttle, my car's vaccum doesn't go past -4
2) all pipes etc are well connected
3) it was working before, just all of the sudden crapped out
4) turbo is 2 years old
5) i changed the wastegate and the blow off valve already.
can anyone point me out to any suggestions, hints, clues etc etc in finding out if my turbo is really dead or not? any help is appreciated
Pull off the intake tubing on the front of the turbo, see if the turbine spins freely and for shaft play. Did you check your vacuum lines going to the boost controller/wastegate?

i got a dumb question how do you know if there's shaft play?
when my car is on, the turbo is spinning like normal..
i checked all the pipes, hose clamps and the hoses, also the one from turbo to the wastegate vaccum is around 20-22 at idle.

well 1st make sure everythings cold .. stick your hand on the compressor wheel ( intake side) .. hold it and shake it up and down in and out .. up and down it should move very minimal, it mIGHT scrape against the sides of the turbo air inlet slightly cuz i mean afterall its been 2 years, it shouldnt really go in the " in and out" way tho ..

Pull the turbo and see if the shaft wheel moves. Or look at the baldes for tell tale damage. Or it might be an O2 sensor going bad. Or just drive around until you see a big puff of Blue smoke. If it's not your head then I *KNOW* it's the turbo ;) But seriously, just recheck all the lines. You might have a clamp gone bad that is just popping off as you drive around and hit boost (happened to a friend of mine) Good luck.

My first turbo on the neon did that and it didn't smoke for a week, just no boost. Also don't turbos last longer then 2 years?

My car's turbo lasted 120k miles over 15 years, then it started leaking a little oil into the compressor housing.
