i agree with the one who admited he stated after he saw FnF i did too but i had been wrenchin on my own shit since i was 7 my step dad got me into cars, i believe i was doomed once i was given my 77 buick riviera 455 big block v8 that was were i started with speed but i just recently got into the newer cars, but hey i don't think that it maters when why or where you started all that matters is if you love whut you do and you do it well...

Hey man,i agree,i got my licesne a few months before the movie came out,and although i already enjoyed speed the movie enlightened me towards a whole new aspect of speed, i never did think the movie was realistic, or that it should be a basis for real life racers, rather i think it helped introduce a lot of people to racing (dont know if that is good or not) and helped stimulate the automotive market. And in a related point, I think it helped spark a horsepower war of the import companies, do you think the impreza would have sold as well if it was not an economically sound way to go fast? and in turn, would Mitsuishi consider bringing the lancer evo to america to compete with it, I personally do not, because the cars like the Impreza and Evo appeal to the same market that FnF did, you dont see too many middle aged men rollin around in Imprezas...
