Well, you're going to have to know about welding if you want everything done right. When people shave the handles and shit, a shop usually cuts them out, replaces the hole with a piece of metal, welds it in, sands it to perfection, primers it, and paints everything so it all looks normal. Good luck.

Dont risk it. Besides if they mess it up they can fix it at no cost while when you **ck it up you will have to pay up the *ss.:D

When shops do it do they put in the door popper or do they charge extra for that?

Exactly what daniel said. If you have the door off a beater you want to practice that on, MANY times. Then grab some scrap metal and do it. Go to a bodyshop and ask them all those good questions and if they tell you "just have a shop do it" be a prick to them and ask someone else.
It's worth knowing and doing.
Don't compromise the frame/support pieces of the trunk or door, could cause it to dent very easily, like by leaning against it. But even those spots you can learn to work on correctly. Make sure you have all the right tools, in some instances that means very expensive tools and work safely when welding. Grab some POS doors from pick'n'pull and do it!
I totally support you guys! More power to ya!
