talk to lowandslow about it. He's looking into engine work as well (actually a swap) I think he did some research about bay area shops, but I htink he might be going to atomic performance down south...

Wussup man,

Yea, you can find a shit load of info about the ls/vtec motor at atomicperformance.com. They have tons of dyno sheets and also have a message board going. I know they've been doing a lot of work on ls/vtec conversions. It'll probably be costly though, if u want it to be reliable....cuz i'm sure u wanna rev high. $8000 for a really good setup is whut they quote. Seriously though, give atomic a call. I called once and talked to Mike....really cool guy.

As for bayarea shops....people on sro recommended motorsport techniques in hayward i believe.

Well...i'm probably gettin' my swap done july/aug...so i'll let u know what i think of atomic.

8000$ for a motor thats way overrated? fuk that man ... use that 8000$ and buy a b16 or b18c, sleeve the bitch, buy a turbo kit and have head work done .. there u go ...

no offense but 8000$ for a motor that realistically is worth about 1000$ is not worth it . no matter who builds it ..

what makes the b20b/z motor superior to all other b sereis motors?

1 stronger, thicker sleaves( about 2 times the amount on of all b series sleaves)-there is no need to resleave

p75 head is pretty much a pr4-y head but with better cooling charactersistics

necessary preperations:
new pistons- the valve relifes are smaller than the vtec valves timing must be 16 degs +/- 2 degs http://www.b20.net
pr3, p30, p73, p72, ctr pistons are all good oem pistons
b sereis vtec head gasket
weld the oil passage at the bottom of the head
tapp the back of the head and run an oil line to the oil press in the block

If u want a bomb ass b20 vtec go to fremont rt autosports and ask for rob....he ran 11.5 all motor with no engine management, and no individual throttle bodies...that is bomb shit...his setup kicks ass! as for a built motor and turbo for 8000....that is cheap....for that price u would get just pistons, rods, bearings, gaskets, stock head, maybe some cams....and a turbo kit. To build a successful turbo charged car u need sleeves to aid in protection from detonation and engine management such as motec of speed pro......budget yourself at least 12k for a fully built motor, ported head, cams, valvetrain, turbo kit, and a speed pro...
