I'm a misplaced redneck from TN, now hanging out in Socal because home is where the military sends me. I have a slow ass 05 GMC 2500Hd Duramax. Best so far is 9.01 in the 1/8th with a 2.20 60 ft with no boost off the line, and some wore out front end parts. With new shocks, idler, and pitman arm those 60 ft's should drop into the 1.7 range and the ET should drop into the 8.5** range. Then comes the N20 and looking for high to mid 7's in the 1/8th and mid-12's in the 1/4. Not much else to know about me. I'd love to see a big meet again, I was reading all the threads I could before posting, and noticed a picture with 17 plus cars cruising just in the picture, and the poster said there was possibly double that. I do have some kills, but why bore you with stories of 60 - 120 mph rolls in a 7000 lb truck vs other trucks or ricer idiots trying to kill someone. I don't race in heavy traffic, and if I think its dangerous I will back out, winning isn't worth killing someone. As far as weaving through traffic, my truck is 14 ft long, 6 feet wide and weighs 7k pounds. It's not exactly a time attack car so my happy ass stays in one lane. Anyways if you guys have any questions, I'll answer just about anything, other wise I'm just here to try to learn, meet some new guys to hang with and enjoy the ride.
Some videos of my truck, don't flame to hard, I'm working on it.

While I definitely respect anything fast, most gasser SUV's and trucks don't stand a chance against a well tuned diesel, if the driver is up to snuff and can compensate for the turbo lag. Thats the one big disadvantage , and a good driver can overcome that brake boosting it going down the road. I am sure there are trucks and Suv's out there way faster than mine, you just don't catch alot of them running around San Diego. Thought there was an SRT-10 who thought he was billy badass and had no fucking clue how to shift it........ :D

haha. What kinda lag problems are you having ... back when I was testing the new 4.5 Duramaxx, and the 2010-series 6.6's, they all had no lag at all, and we WERE boosting the hell outta them.
Just saying, diesels shouldn't have lag problems. I had a 6.5 TDI myself, ran 25 lbs with 21:1 compression, no lag at all.
Before you go nitrous, I'd suggest trying propane or water-methanol injection. Both are proven setups, and worth looking into.
Either way, welcome. And, POST UP some good kills ... I think I posted one with the detroit diesel where I dusted a civic while pulling a 10kip trailer with the bed (10') and cab full of construction and farm equipment. Just make sure they're actually a decent kill, and keep 'em detailed (no lists of cars beaten, PLEASE, or you'll probably wind up banned).

I'm running 38 lbs of boost, with 16.8 compression. The only lag problems I have are 4th and 5th gear roll ons from 1200 rpm, it takes it a cunt hair of a second to bring the boost up good, if I'm not brake boosting it. It ain't no supercharger, but it spools fast enough being a VGT turbo. I'm not a fan of propane, for reason that are way to detailed to print here, but it has to do with the two different ignition temps of propane and diesel, and I'm already over fueled, so adding propane (a fuel) would just make the problem worse. I'm using nitrous to clean up the fuel the stock turbo can't quiet handle so water/meth won't help me either on that point, they I may use it later on down the road. It'll be better when I get my GT4094, but for now stocker and spray will work to get me where I wanna be.

Thanks dude, yeah it looks pretty evil when it starts to spool and that black smoke starts to roll, epically backlit like that.
