k20 swap in a crx

So im buying a crx for sure. i have a lot of plans that im wanting to do.. first would be a motor swap. im gonna push to have this car finished in a year for this car show. i know its gonna be a lot of work in a lil time. but it will be done. i need opinions on a k20 swap. what all is involed is it honestly worth it at all. i have heard that the k20 aint much faster then the b18.. or something like that..

any help with how to do it or basic opinons would be awesome. thanks.

The k20 is definitely a lot faster than the b18. But, it's gonna need everything replaced (trans, axles, wiring, fuel, ecu, etc. etc.) and mounts will have to be replaced, maybe even the entire K-member.

A basic setup is the B16a or LS/VTEC, both are quite popular in Hondas, and make very good power. Even the D-series, with the right stuff, can be built up pretty good (SOHC-VTEC). But yeah, if you really wanna swap, go with a quality B16A or LS/VTEC, get it rebuilt by a reputable shop, and spend the money to do it right; otherwise, you'll be disappointed when you blow the motor over some $50 gasket or bearing.

One quick Q, and sorry for having to ask this, but how experienced are you at doing fabrication work (be honest)?

The project can be done bro. Like XM said earlier, you gonna change everything and maybe have to gut out the entire car. This will take time. Your timetable of 1 year will push the envelope because you have to do your reasearch and shopping, think you can go without sleep when you get your parts?

I have a few ppl helping me on this. i know nothing about these motors, i have it torn apart right now figured i would get some cams and shit while its out. im actually just gonna stick to the motor thats in there which is a b18 im pretty sure it nonvtec with the lsd tranny. its already got some other mods as well (short throw shifter, stage2 clutch,etc.) so imma put some money into the motor, and more money into the paint and suspension and shit. maybe work on the interior even though its pretty nice.

its a long story. pretty much my friends brother bought it like a month ago and its been sittin at the shop the whole time. and they had already taken the motor apart awhile ago. so i asked my friend if i could just buy it from them and now its mine. so thats how it happened. cuz i went and looked at a few others and just decided to take it off their hands cuz he needed the money.

anyways im so excited. deffy not gonna be riced out at all hate that shit, but i want it to be obvious that its a girls car but its still gonna be sick. like i said imma just put some money into this motor & turbo. think ill try and work on lookin into k20's and shit later down the road.
